Oops, I'm an idiot (ring vent)

I just got our custom-made wedding bands yesterday. They are beautiful and perfect and exactly what we wanted... except FI's is too big.

I'm making him go get his finger sized again so I can order him a new one. He says he's always been an 8, but I *know* he was an 8.5 when I ordered the rings. He's either lost weight, or it's because it's winter-y now his finger shrunk. Or maybe I ordered the wrong size. face/palm.
 
But he's sad because they are titanium inlaid with koa, and whole idea with the wood inlay is that it's cut from the same tree, right next to each other. I'm hoping the guy who made them is still working from the same piece of wood so the new ring will match mine as perfectly as the current one.

UGH!! One more thing I didn't want to have to deal with. At least I was under budget for rings, so it's not so bad I have to buy him two...

He says in his store policy you can exchange, but because it's custom made you only get 50% credit.

Since they're impossible to resize I'm thinking I'll let FI keep both and switch with the seasons. Then he never has an excuse not to wear his ring
