We buy super fancy Purina for the cats, and cheap dollar store dog food for the racoons,  so we are safe.

BAH. We use Kirkland biscuits... I wonder if they are at risk too, or if it's just the Kibble. 

on another website about the recall, there's this comment,, which makes me sad

"I have a liter of 13 AKC St Bernard pups. One Died Thursday after feeding them the Diamond Puppy for 3 days. All are sick with Diarrhea and bloody stools. Vet bills are sky rocketing not to mention I could still lose them and my older dogs. The vet said this can live up to 6 weeks. All has to be sterilized. The news is very interested in this story. Diamond WILL be contacted. And if necessary a class action law suit is in order."

Ugh.  I went through this a few years ago during the last major recall.

Dry treats aren't on the list, and neither is MN which makes me feel better.

We did buy a few bags of the Kirkland stuff last fall though, and the dogs were not fans. They had the weirdest poop (and it was only mixed 50/50 with Blue Buffalo)... now I'm wondering if it was actually from salmonella instead of just using a different brand of food.

Thanks for posting this. It looks like our dog food is safe, but I'll be calling my mom and having her check to make sure her cat food isn't bad.

Thanks for posting- I reposted to FB. Thankfully, I've never had to go through a pet recall, I'm neurotic enough about my furkids!
