Thundercats....HOOOOOOOO!

No, but thunderstorms YES!

How do you feel about storms?  I am kinda crazy obsessed.  We have had some wicked storms this week along with out of season 90 degree weather.  There is a nasty fart cooking up out there right now, so FI and I are about to sit on the porch and watch the action.  I also love the smell of the rain on everything.

What do you like/dislike about storms?  Or just answer this poll so I can have useless information to stare at.

  • I think lightening is beautiful. As long as I am not getting rained on, I'm good. I HATE when it rains on my nose. iI'm not sure why, but it is  a big pet peeve of mine.

  • I love storms, we had a whopper last summer that lasted like 3 hours and we sat on the front porch filming it for 2 of those hours. It was awesome. We had 4 pissant little storms this summer and I was so pissed. Such BS. The only times I recall it storming were either during the day when I couldnt SEE it, or at night when I was asleep and it breifly woke me up.
  • Last summer we had over 100 days with no rain, and almost that many with 100F+ temps. This year, we had lots of 100F+ days, but it has rained a lot, so at least we have lakes this year. You could basically walk across them this time last year.

It has been raining every afternoon this week, and now people are complaining. I love it.

  • It's nice if you're inside and the thunder isn't crazy-loud. I get skittish if I'm outside in one, though.

  • I love them. I've been stuck outside in a lot of them, it was scary. I really want to take a picture of lightning but I fail miserably at it.

  • I love them. I could just do without the aftermath and destruction like falling trees/branches and all that.

  • The only time I am not into a storm is when I'm in my car driving.  Not being able to see in a city full of people who can't drive is very scary.

On a camping trip once, we got stuck in a terrible storm.  That was really scary - I thought the tent was going to blow away with us inside.  I gained a whole new level of respect for thunder, lightening and wind that night.

  • FI and I have a tradition during thunderstorms of grabbing Taco Bell and eating it in the car, while we're parked on a hill so we can watch the lightning =)
  • The one time I really remember I was about 7 and I was biking home. It had started storming but didn't get bad until I got across the street from my house. It knocked me off my bike and into the middle of the street. The bike landed on top of me and I couldn't get it off. I was screaming so loud my cousin (that was living with us) came bolting out of the house and got me. That's the only time a storm has ever scared me.

The lightening hit my aunt and uncle's car while they were driving. They said it was terrifying.

  • I don't really like them.  I'm not afraid of them, and prefer it to happen overnight because I hate the smell of rain, and I hate to drive in it, lol.  Plus, I just hate how it's miserable outside and I can't go do anything w/o getting soaked and things are all wet and muddy.  I wouldn't mind one right now b/c I'm not going to do anything... as long as there's no hail to dent my car!

  • I love storms. I'll stand outside during a storm; I blame this on my father. While my mom, brother and I would hide in the basement, Dad would be outside watching the storm and occasionally coming back in to update us on the status.

I'd really, honestly love to chase storms. I get a little, but I want to know what's going on inside the storm cells.
  • I used to hate them when I was younger. But now I really enjoy a thunderstorm, especially when we're in bed with the lights out.

  • I don't like thunderstorms. If it happens during the day it screws up traffic like crazy. If it happens at night, the noise of thunder wakes me up and I get freaked out. :p

  • Also, semi-related to thunderstorms, but I love running around outside (not naked =P) during a downpour in the summer and just getting completely soaked. It's so relaxing.
  • I havent seen a good storm in years. I miss Ohio for the amazing storms we had and Colorado for tornado season. <3  I would always go outside and watch the storms. I love being outside in the rain and getting all soaked. Its like remembering how small we really are in the grand scheme of things.
