Every day makeup recommendations go here

I have never been able to find a makeup that I love...I have tried all different stuff & just settle. I don't really wear a lot of makeup, just something on my face to cover up my dark circles & some red marks. I tend to have oily skin, but no acne for the most part. I would like something that gives good coverage, but looks natural.
I have looked at Bare Minerals, and I'm on the fence with that. A friend uses MAC & loves it.

What do you ladies use??

Re: Every day makeup recommendations go here

• I do have MAC concealer and foundation, and it is pretty darn nice. It's expensive, but it's lasted me a really long time.
• Mac blot powder is amazing.

I dig Bare Minerals foundation.

Benefit boi-ing concealer is awesome, if you need a little more coverage Benefit's Erase Paste is good.

I'm a big fan of my new Covergirl lashblast fushion mascara.

• My SIL used Bare Minerals for my wedding makeup and it looked natural. I don't wear makeup, so that's all I can recommend. She used the foundation that best amtched my skin tone and it turned out great.

I like the CoverGirl mascara as well.

Also, I tried this:

http://www.smashbox.com/PHOTO-FINISH-COLOR-CORRECTING-FOUNDATION-PRIMER

(specifically Blend) in stores, and was thoroughly blown away.
• Smashbox primer does rock. The Perkfect (or something like that) primer is AMAZING as well. It automatically evens your skin tone without makeup.

• The only thing I really use is a face powder, I have used liquid foundation, but feels too heavy.
I have been look at MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation but also thinking about trying the Get Started kit from Bare Minerals.
• IMO, the kits kind of suck because you get very small sizes and possibly some stuff you don't really want. I think the foundation is worth the price.

• MarriedinaFever and I have the same recs. I wear BareMinerals daily. I keep Boi-ing concealer in my purse. my CG LashBlast mascara is my fave. love my Smashbox primer, although I won't be buying it again (will instead buy Monistat Anti Chafing Gel for cheaper that is exactly the same thing).

I do wear Laura Mercier concealer as my main concealer (ie, I keep it in the makeup drawer and wear it EVERY DAY). it covers my dark circles really well. it rocks.

• OMG, all these options make me so glad I don't wear makeup. I'd be so confused.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

I only just heard about it last week on Nest's F&B board. here: http://www.glamour.com/beauty/blogs/girls-in-the-beauty-department/2009/02/i-wore-monistat-on-my-face-las.html

• It's all about what works best for you. Try going to some makeup counters and experimenting, or order some stuff you think you might like off Sephora's website and then return what you don't want (they will accept opened items as returns as long as you have a receipt). I'm using one of the Mac cream foundations (Studio Tech, I think) and I somewhat like it but I think I'm going to go back to a liquid foundation after this because I'm finding it difficult to get the appropriate level of coverage at times. It's either like, WAY TOO MUCH MAKEUP or I can still see where my skintone is uneven. I use Mac studio sculpt concealer for under eyes and it's wonderful. I also use the Smashbox primer discussed upthread, and I use Urban Decay's eyeshadow primer when I wear eyeshadow. It's awesome! Your makeup does not even budge when you put eyeshadow primer on first. Plus you can wear the primer by itself to disguise uneven skin tone around your eyes (it's very lightly tinted).

• Alright so forget about the kit....just get the foundation its self? Good recommendation!

I use that. Love it. The tube is about $8 and lasts months. I can't bring myself to buy the smashbox primer when the price difference is so so vast.

I use Neutrogena foundation and their mineral powder and really like it. Some days I skip the foundation and just use the powder. Covergirl mascara is my favorite.
• Also try reading some reviews from this girl's makeup blog, I find it really interesting and you can avoid buying products that aren't worth it ... http://www.temptalia.com/

• yea, I got the kit and it sucks. I wear the foundation only. go to an Ulta or Sephora and try out the colors to see which one works for you.

Yes, the Urban Decay's primer for eyes is great. It keeps the eye shadow from creasing or smudging. I love it.

• Thank you all for your advice!! I am going to have to go to some makeup counters to try some stuff out. No idea what color I will need, I have pretty light skin.
• I use a lot of Estee Lauder, it's a little pricey but always lasts along time and I love the quality. They also use alot of natural ingrediants. EL is at most department stores that have make up counters.

• I use Clinique oil free and for the rest of my face, all things MAC. Both lines are spendy, but everything lasts a long while with no break outs or irritation.

I liked Mary Kay, but drifted away from it. Their makeup is a little heavy, even the new mineral stuff feels heavy.
• Bare Minerals and I aren't friends. it just doesn't look as good on me as it does on other people! I use CARGO foundation. Eye makeup I'm almost exclusively an Urban Decay junkie. But I did just start using DiorShow mascara...and I kind of love it.
Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.

• I used Mac for years I love the makeup but it does tend to get a little greasy at times and comes off on everything clothing, phones, etc. I used the studio fix powder to foundation. I recently switched to bare minerals like a month ago and love it. I always get compliments on my makeup people say that it looks so natural. It gives me the right amount of coverage. I agree with pp don't get the kit just get the foundation. That's all that I use. I still use the mac mascara though. Definitely go to a make-up counter and try it on and see how it works for you. My mom tried it after I bought it and the moment she put it on her skin broke out.
