I posted last week about Tim surprising me with something for my birthday (he told me not to look at the bank statement, phone, mail etc.)

He gave me my present tonight.

We're going to Universal / Disney for a week! Holy crap! We're leaving this Tuesday and coming back next Tuesday.

About a month ago I saw a commercial for the Harry Potter theme park at Universal and have been kind of obsessing about it. Tim hates Harry Potter, so I didn't think I'd ever get to go. This is so awesome I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning.

He always does something for my birthday that he hates, but that I love. Last year he took me to the Star Trek exhibit at the Franklin Institute.

 I think he secretly likes to see me cry like a baby

Definitely get robes! Last time we were there it was *almost* open, and I was so sad. WIll be heading back soon, and can't wait. Have you been to Universal before?

I've never been to Universal. I haven't been to Disney in 21 years. I was 15 the last time I was there.

I think I'm most excited (aside from Harry Potter) for Universal. I'm thinking we'll probably spend most of our time there and maybe do a day or two at Disney.

We haven't been on vacation in almost two years, so this was quite an unexpected surprise. He did good

Universal and Islands of Adventure are fantastic! The Mummy and The Hulk rides are probably my favorite. The Mummy ride surprised me at how good it was!

We recently also went to Gatorland, if you're looking for something else to do and I was surprised at how great it was. They have a room where you can feed lorikeets and they land on you, and I felt like snow white. I also sat on and kissed an alligator.

If you're staying at one of the Universal Hotels, you can use your roomkey as a speed pass, for the faster moving line, which is fantastic.

In any case, have FUN! Can't wait to see some photos!!

You've probably already got the hotel booked but if not, I'd recommend staying in one of the on-site hotels even if it costs more; if you stay on site you get to cut the lines on most of the rides like having a permanent express pass.

All the locals love the Harry Potter stuff right now because everyone is going to that and the lines in the rest of the park are short lol.

Vegas - He booked everything already. We're staying at a hotel in the park and he was telling me about the express pass thing. He said we shouldn't have to wait more than ten minutes or so for the rides. Sweet!

Ah, that's great then, it makes going a whole different experience; normally you can only get one express pass per hour or something like that, but if you're staying on site you just scan or show your room key and you can keep going in the express pass line over and over.  Everyone else in the regular lines will hate you lol.
