Re: I'm an AE, busted

  • That is me, I'm a guy, I'm not an AE of anyone, my fiancee is bridejackie on here, she posts in the Vegas locals forum very rarely, she posted in E once and got ripped up and has stayed off all the other forums since then.

  • Oooooooh why did she get ripped apart, did you tell that story yet? Link???
  • Vegas is a cutie.  Never thought you were an AE, even when I saw your posts on the Vegas board.  Maybe I'm not suspicious enough? LOL

    Anniversary
  • Guess you showed me.

Not sure of the thread, cliffnotes are she chose her bridesmaids early, as in about a whole 12 hours after we got engaged, they're all in their first year out of med school so they're on crazy hours just like her with no way of predicting what their rotation, shifts, days off, etc. would be 13 months from that point.   She's the bride so she was able to set up an exception to be able to have all two weeks vacation off consecutively for her wedding at a time when residents taking vacation is normally discouraged since that time of year you switch from 1st year to 2nd year and really get into your specialty.  The other bridesmaids were a little ho hum about whether they'd be able to make it to the rehearsal dinner (we're not actually having a rehearsal), that got her upset that they didn't care aobut our wedding so she posts in E in the same way you see most new people post in E; i.e. my bridesmaids aren't taking my day seriously, they wont go up the ladder and try to make sure they can have off to make it to my rehearsal dinner 13 months from now, they're going to ruin my wedding.  :-)  Knowing E, you can guess what most of the responses were.  She's calmed down since then but hasn't ventured back to E or the other forums since then.

<div>Sigh...I can imagine the response she got...and yet, she is probably a very nice, reasonable woman...I think wedding planning gets the best of many rational people. (ETA: who should be careful not to post certain things on certain boards...)</div><div>
</div><div>It is nice to put a face to the name Vegas. I don't see how being a guy means you can't post here. Are you in the minority, absolutely, but who cares. My DH doesn't love that I post here and now some of my friends/family know about it and it is a big joke...they keep asking me when I am going to delete my account since I am married. I just think that people who have never been part of a 'forum community' don't get it. </div>
  • I honestly think that if she had posted the same story here, she would have gotten the same reaction.

    Ditto
  • Pretty much.  I stayed out of it, it was a no win situation for me lol:

Option 1) Don't worry babe, they'll make it to the rehearsal dinner if they can and if they dont they're going to be there for wedding day either way.  What, you're taking their side?

Option 2) I can't believe those b*tches, they aren't taking our day seriously!  But that could have encouraged her to do something she'd regret.

I gave her some wine and said lets worry about it next week.  Problem solved.

<div>Correct response. DH did this a few times for me. Sigh, that's why he is DH, he understands the role wine and whine play...</div>

I definitely remember, it was our first conversation on TK and I was laughing my ass off, and it made me think our H's would get along great. Still makes me think of "I heart bukkake." Ah, precious memories.
