Wedding Dress- Bought at Madelien's Daughter last night!!!

Let me start of with saying I went to Madelein's Daughter last night wanting to only spend $850 max...which is a small budget for this place. Which is why I went during their Bridal White Sale...Sample Dresses on the floor were all 50% off. Which meant I could purchase anything originally $1700 or under! That sale continues today and tomorrow, just an FYI!

The dress is an exclusive from the bridal shop I bought it at (Madeleine's Daughter in NH)...I got treated like a princess there and I told my consultant (McKenzie) I didn't wanna spend over $850 (in actuality I would have spent more for this specific dress cause I loved it that much! lol). I thought because my budget was low that they were gunna treat me differently since they work off commission....but not at all...she was so pleasant and not the LEAST bit pushy!  She actually chose the dress for me. I was hesitant cause on the rack it looked a little Gaudy. My MOH pointed out that, other than the beads, it was the exact style I was looking for and that I should give it a chance since I had never tried on a beaded dress. This place works a little like Kleinfield...you get your own consultant...they pull the dresses for you...and I had my own huge room for my entourage to sit in with me (I only had my MOH Katherine with me cause I REALLY didn't think I was gunna purchase... I was planning to go to Brides Against Breast Cancer on Saturday in Boston and their most expensive dresses...besides the couture dresses, which are separated and put on special racks that I wouldn't even look at... are $800 so I had free range to get whatever I wanted. That was so appealing to me (& for the money to be donated to a charity obviously)..I thought even if I found "the one" at the bridal shop last night, that I would be hesitant about purchasing. But nope...not at all. I feel like I could try every single dress on at BABC on Saturday and I would still choose my dress all over again. So clearly I'm confident in my choice lol Do I wish I had found this dress at BABC and had the money go to a sick persons last wishes...of coarse...but things didn't turn out that way. I figure I'll probably donate it to the charity after the wedding and/or be a volunteer next year if they come back to Boston. Oh...and before I post the pics I should mention it's Ivory, not white (which is what I wanted...or champagne...but not diamond white!) and it's 2 sizes too big...and the pics were taken at my MOH house so we didn't have the clip do-dads to make it form to my body so I did my best in the photos to hold it close to my body.

I know everybody says this...but the pictures REALLY don't do it justice. It's beaded and sparkly head to toe...without looking Gaudy what-so-ever. We all agreed it was classic and vintage looking with still having a modern flare.

Be honest guys...what do you think? Oh....almost forgot...original price was $1,100 and I got it for $550!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Laughing

Congratulations!  I'm glad you had such a great experience, and that you found THE dress so easily!  It's beautiful.  I have an appointment at MD's for the end of the month, and I am so excited for it :)

I love MD and I really LOVE McKenzie!  When I bought my gown there for my wedding, she was so patient and really went all out to make things work for me.  Congrats!! Your gown is super gorgeous!

DrPB2b13- I had tried on dresses at Modern Bride as well (I don't remember my consultants name but she was nice. I felt a little pressure...but nothing significant). I was torn between two dress there. But once I tried on this dress at Madeleine's Daughter...it was kinda like "Other dresses...what other dresses?" lol and this was the last one I tried on last night. I tried on 6 at each place...so I bought #14 :) Not ridiculously easy...but I tried on enough to not confuse myself, but feel confident that I saw what was out there!

YayBananas- McKenzie was fabulous! I was reaaalllly hesitant about having a consultant there because my MOH sister is getting married and her sister's consultant (no idea who she had) was rude to her about being 'picky' (umm..hello...it's your wedding dress! There's a problem if your not being at least somewhat picky!) & she felt pressured to buy.

I can't stop looking at the pictures... it's a problem lol This is the exact reason that I'm storing at my MOH house, cause I know that if it was at my place I would be putting it on every other day! lol This way I can try it on when I want (she lives 10mins up the street)...but she'll tell me when enough is a enough hahaha

I felt the same exact way when I was at Modern Bride...I fell in "love" with two. Well..it was apparently just lust cause it dosen't even compare to the way I feel about this dress. I never really believed in "the moment" (for myself...not for others)....but honestly...I was hesitating to tell the consultant it was "the one" because the shop closed in 20mins and I knew the second I said that it was the one, she would make me take it off and purchase it...and I did NOT want to take it off. She could have had  20 more dresses ready for me to try on and I would have said no thanks. I didn't tear up...I'm not the type to though....but not wanting to take it off or to continue to try on anything else is what made me realize. I say if your in love with more than 1...keep looking, because more than likley there is 1 that will make those dresses but a distant memory

DrPB2b13- good luck! I had so much fun...kinda sad it's over lol

Kfudge0714- They recommend making an appointment, BUT if your ONLY going for the sample sale (the dresses that arn't part of the birdal white 50% off sale are out back in a stock room and they don't allow brides back there) the website and their FB says you can walk in without an appointment and browse the dresses yourself...the samples are the one's out front. They have small dressing room towards the front that you use when you don't have a consultant. If you decide to go I would bring somebody you feel comfortable with seeing you half naked cause you'll need somebody to help get the dresses on/off/ziped/laced. Or you could even call and see if there are any available appointments left. Good luck...whether you go or you shop another time :)

Yeah for sure check it out! If your weary of customer service try to make an appointment specifically with McKenzie because she was terrific and then you should have no worries :)

Wicked exciting! I couldn't imagine waiting all that time between buying the dress & actually getting to see it again. Since mine was a sample I walked out the door with it. All I have to do is go harrass my MOH & tell her I wanna see it and/or try it on lol
