Hi lovely ladies!
So, we are having our ceremony in our church (we are Catholic), and then we are having the reception and festivities at Disneyland afterwards. I am throwing a tea party for my bridal party at Blue Bayou in Pirates of the Caribbean, I have the Kirstie Kelly Belle ball gown (gorgeous), and we have upgraded everything they suggested to make the reception of our dreams at DIsneyland. Our venue is the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion, which is a gorgeous round ballroom that has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Disneyland property. I loved the venue, and picked it because of the view over the other locations they showed us. We are spending well over $20,000 on the reception at Disneyland.
There is construction going on at Disneyland, and we were assured that although a few building nearby our location were going to be renovated, nothing about our venue would be affected by the construction.
We recently went to the park, our venue was open, so we took a look around to get an idea of how we should do our lighting. They had frosted all the windows!!! The beautiful view that I loved was gone, and to be honest, the space felt smaller and almost claustrophobic to me. They were also jackhammering outside, tearing up the beautiful mosaic balcony that we were looking forward to using for an outdoor area. I hoped that perhaps the frosting was just a covering to protect the windows from the construction outside.
I emailed my planner at Disney, and she assured me the outdoor area would be complete by our wedding and could be used, but the windows would be frosted. Apparently a lot of money had been freed up to expand construction, and the area around the pavilion would be under construction for our wedding. She told me the photographers loved it because they could use flash in the room without glare, and the wall lights looked great. She sent me pictures from a recent nighttime wedding, and I did not like it. All the pictures they showed us during our site tour showed the lit palm trees and Captain Hook's ship through the windows that were now frosted

And when I say frosted, I mean you can't see anything out the window at all. They are basically painted over for all practical purposes.
We are meeting with our planner at Disneyland on Tuesday, and I don't know what to do. The wedding is in 3 months, and we have already sent out save the dates, I have my Disney princess dress, and everyone from out of state is so excited to come to Disneyland. If we cancel, we lose our deposit now and owe half the projected budget. The thing I like most about our venue has been taken away, and I feel like I could have had our reception anywhere now because it would look the same. I feel like they should compensate us somehow for making this change, and especially since our planner didn't bother to tell us, I had to mention it to her! I am glad we live close by and saw the change before the wedding. I just feel like we are spending a lot of money, we are paying for it, not my parents, and I want to love my space.
Am I overreacting? What should I do? I feel like I have been tricked
