Snarky Brides

Morning Girls!

I haven't started one of these in awhile...just wanted to say good morning.  Let's see, anything new, oh yeah I chipped a diamond in my farking e-ring yesterday.  No idea how that's going to turn out and I've stupidly put off getting insurance for it.  :P

And last night FI and I were talking about weddings and he used his first TK acronym: JOP....I had to interrupt him because I was laughing so hard.  He listens to me talk too much and when I talk about wedding stuff, I actually say acronyms not even thinking about it.  :P  Spend too much time on here?  Definitely.  ;)

What's new with everyone else?

Re: Morning Girls!

  • Would the jeweler insure it?  I have mine on my renter's insurance, justincase, but it's also guaranteed for life through the jeweler store. Doesn't hurt to ask them!

    Morning, by the way :)

Nothing too exciting here, either.  Not really feeling this whole work thing today.
  • Mmmm. Cake.

    Oh. And good morning!

  • Morning.  I'm here.  McDonald's fuccked up my breakfast this morning so I couldn't eat it.  Seriously, who puts cheese on sausage and pancakes?  That should be illegal.

Work is still hell with no end in sight.  Our audit has once again been pushed back a few days.  I wish we could just get it over with already.  I'm just counting down the minutes until I am sitting in front of the TV with H watching Dexter :)

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • Morning! Sorry about your e-ring. Is it really noticable?

Nothing exciting for me today, just surviving another day of lectures for the course I'm TA-ing.

  • How they heck did you chip a diamond??  With another diamond?  Hopefully you can get it fixed!

I'm shaking my head at my H these days.  He complains about gaining weight but then continues to eat everything in site.  5 weeks 'till Jamaica, so I guess I need to start kicking his ass.

    Sorry ladies. That really sucks.

That sucks about the diamond. I have a lifetime warranty through the store, but not insurance so I don't know what would happen if I did that. Here's hoping to an inexpensive fix!

I have to go to a stupid surprise baby shower today. I don't want to go but it's an office thing so I kind of have to. I just can't wait for the week to be over because I get to go home on Friday, then spend Saturday with the family at a party for my brother. So, Wednesday and Thursday need to hurry up already.

And it's been over a week and still no test results from my doctor so I'm not happy about that. I should have just gone to my dad's lab, he can get results in 10 minutes for me.

ETA--cheese on pancakes? WTF was that person smoking?

Agreed.  I like Sausage McGriddles because they are, in essence, a sausage patty wrapped in syrup-filled pancakes.  They're pure heaven.  Why defile that with cheese?<img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-yell.gif" border="0" alt="Yell" title="Yell" />

  • Thanks girls, yeah, it's really noticeable unfortunately.  And it's sharp as hell.  I think the jeweler will cover it but I'll call later to find out.  It'll be fine either way, we'll get it fixed.

It was a baguette and the edges of some of those types of diamonds can actually be really weak.  You hit it just right and yeah, you've got a chipped or lost diamond on your hands.  :P
  • Hi ladies. I'm here. That's about all I can say about that.

I have to train a class this afternoon and I'm not really looking forward to it.

Sorry about your breakfast, B. You should burn that McDonalds down.

    Sorry about your ring, Futuremrs.

I dont mean to sound rude with this, im just curious because this isnt the first time ive seen it. People actually speak acronyms from the knot outloud? Like they say "J.O.P?" or "M.O.H"?
  • Nebb- I've heard "JOP" outloud before the knot. I'm not sure I've ever actually used acryonm anywhere else other than here, though.

I hate when people say "BTW" in text messages even.
  • Sorry about the diamond Future. My SIL fell down her basement steps and broke her diamond. Of course when they went to get it fixed she made him buyer her a bigger diamond.

Mine is on the house insurance, but the jeweler we bought it from went out of business so what ever they did cover is null and void now.

Had a bad night last night I woke up at 4am from a nightmare where there was 2 people just randomly stabbing people. And everyone would just stand around. It was quite graphic. I woke up husband with my whining and crying. So I made him get up and turn on the bathroom light so I could go to the restroom.

He promptly fell back to sleep.....my hero (enter sarcasm). But it took me awhile to get back to sleep, and I went back into another bad dream.
Maybe it was something I ate.
    Oh yeah! Good Morning!

  • I've never heard anyone say JOP, MOH, etc. But I heave used DH in IMs before and the person didn't know what I was talking about.
  • Yeah, I've heard J.O.P. out loud before too.

I about snorted out loud when I watched Made of Honor and one of the BMs said "Well, I've been a MOH (pronounced like Moe, not spelled out) twice before."
  • I want to burn it down, Cew.  I told H to bring it back and get our money back because I was pissed.  He said he was going to eat it.  Yeah, he totally missed the point.

I'm sorry about the dreams, Kd.  That sucks :(

  • Ha, that's my H kd. He'll wake me up from a nightmare, ask if I'm okay, then he's snoring 1 minute later. But I usually wake him up by kicking him pretty hard, so I can't really say anything about him falling back asleep so fast.
  • When I say acronyms out loud, believe me, I know how ridiculous I sound.  It's just weird, I dunno honestly.  Just literally comes out of my mouth and I usually back-up and re-say whatever I was talking about, ha!  But yeah, I have heard others say JOP.

Yeah I really didnt want to bother him because he was getting up in an hour. And he's been really tired. But gee at least hold me a bit and make it better. I just kept trying to focus on something else.

JOP has been around for years. So yes I've heard it in regular conversation before. And most the people I know dont know what I mean when I talk about the knot.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
  • I've also heard JOP in normal conversation from people who wouldn't touch the knot with an 80 foot pole.

  • Too bad about your ring FutureMrs! Hope that is fixed quickly with little to no expense (if the jeweler covers it).

I was always a fan of the sausage Mcmuffin myself, but I am trying to shrink my big butt so no McD's breakfast for me. I have substantial weight to lose and I am just trying to accept how long that will take.

My new dog is wonderful. She is such an easy dog to have around, very sweet and her intestinal infection is getting better so that is a big relief.

Work is just very difficult, all the way around and on so many levels. I am reaching the "fix it or change it" level with my job.

I am in an odd mood this morning. I just... want! Want sleep, want a vacation, want shopping, want escape. I think I will spend lunch getting info on island vacations it will take us way to much time to save for. At least we are lucky enough to be able to do them at all.

TWO freinds got laid off this week (not at my job). I feel so bad for them. We could survive if I was not working. Things are going to be very hard for both of them.

  • Morning, ladies!

Sucks about the diamond, Mrs. But you seem to have a positive outlook on it!

Betrothed, I'd be pissed! And I'm craving McD's breakfast now, too.

    KD, wtf!

And yes, I knew what JOP was before the knot.

  • I'm here. SMRT one here left the lights on in the car last night. Guess what? Yep - battery was dead this morning, and it was either take the truck or wake J up and get some help moving the dead one out of the way. Fortunately, it was the Miata, so he just put it in neutral and moved it out to the street. He was going to fix my car today, though.
And, of course, I was late for work. The day is starting off swell. I think my new bed is TOO comfortable - it's hard to get out of in the mornings.
