Snarky Brides

A Wedding Tale AW it up

I finally got married on Saturday which was a beautiful day and wedding, I just didn't feel it.

My MOH and a couple friends took me out to the bars the night before.  I had a task list to complete which I did everything but the flashing and making out pretty much.   At one point I was happily tipsy and another guy bought us a round, of the nastiest drink ever that made me toss my cookies in the matter of about 2 minutes.  Word to the wise NEVER drink a BBT (Bailey's, Butterscotch and Tequila). I didn't know what it was till I tasted it going down and immediately back up.  I spent the rest of the night throwing up and finally got 2 hours of sleep and woke up at 7 throwing up again.  My wonderful MOH from out of state without a car or knowledge of where anything was walked around town trying to find a drug store and brought me back some nausea medication and saltines.

After tossing up everything in my stomach up until 10am on the morning of my wedding I finally fell asleep for an hour and woke up feeling better, still not about to eat anything or drink anything.  I walked down for my hair appointment and makeup and back to the room to get ready.  My mom was driving me crazy because she refused to get her hair done and had my MOH do it.  My mom had her change it 3 times and MOH finally said we're supposed to be helping the bride get ready you're gonna have to live with it.  This is after I had done my nails, jewelry and started with my dress.  OH well though thats not important I was just annoyed.

We get downstairs and start the ceremony.  I get up to the front and see FI now DH ( so weird to type that) and the minister starts speaking and I can't hold back.  I didn't cry I was up there trying not to laugh hysterically, the people in the front rows see me laughing and start laughing themselves.

I was so glad everything at the reception went well, the food was delicious.  DH stomped on my foot time after time because the dress went the opposite direction of my foot.  Our wonderful friends and family though it ended up being a full bar all payed for their drinks and we didn't have to cover much.

All in all a wonderful night.  Ended with DH and I in our hotel room with him removing bobby pins from my hair for over an hour.  Whn I start getting some pics I'll post them

Thanks for reading if you did.

Yay! It sounds like quite the memorable wedding weekend. I can't wait to see pictures.

BTW, I'm a nervous laugher too. I laugh at the worst imaginable times.
  • What in the world would possess you to go get shitfaced the night before your wedding?

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

Congratulations! Make sure you share pics as soon as you get them.

Glad it ended up being a good day,and at the end you're married. But yeah I think you reaffirmed most peoples decisions to have their bach parties way in advance.

  • I am soooo sorry you were sick the morning of your wedding! Sounds like it all turned out well, though. Congratulations!

I think more of us should post our wedding day stories. I did not and not many people have.

  • And that's why I told H he couldn't have his bach party the night before the wedding. No way would I want either of us feeling that sick the morning of.

But I'm glad you were able to pull through it and have a great wedding!

A take away for others: even if you rarely to never get sick drinking don't tempt fate on this one.
  • I'm a laugher too - people thought I was crying but I was laughing - the worst part, I kept having to ask the minister to repeat what he'd just said during my vows.

  • i think tequila in any form the night before your wedding sounds like a bad idea!  And I agree that combination sounds disgusting!

</div><div>I didn't actually.  I can't handle butterscotch it makes me violently sick and I didn't know it was in the drink until I swallowed it.  Before that I had had 2 sex on the beaches.  So I had a happy buzz and would have been perfectly fine without that horrible drink.  </div>
  • I assume you would have completed your task list, including the flashing and making out, if you hadn't have gotten shitfaced from some stranger's drinks? Classy. What is the point of getting married if that is how you are going to act the night before your wedding?

Congratulations, though. I hope your DH knows what he is getting into.

  • Butterscotch makes you throw up for hours? Unless you're allergic, I'd say you had too much to drink and that one put you over the edge.
