Finally a place where I can work through my deep scars over my MIL guilt tripping me with all her bullsh!t about Italian weddings when I am not Italian, but then not hearing a peep when her own Italian goddaughter is getting married on a beach in Hawaii with no guests.Oh so that is how "YOUR WHOLE FAMILY DOES EVERY ITALIAN TRADITION AT EVERY SINGLE WEDDING" and "THE OLDER RELATIVES WILL BE OFFENDED IF YOU DON'T GIVE THEM THESE GODDAM COOKIES"!

    I think I've been cheated. I've gone to Italian weddings and haven't gotten cookies. Instead I've gotten those stupid Jordan almonds, blech. Were the cookies good at least?
    I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz

    Those were fake Italians.  All real Italian weddings have fig cookies and pinolatas and 700 people.

    Oh well, I probably wouldn't like fig cookies anyway. But they have been the biggest weddings I've been to.My MIL  guilt tripped us into having a Russian Orthodox church wedding a few months after we got married. I had to wear a doily on my head and everything was repeated 3 times. I had no idea what was going on but my MIL is convinced that we'll inherit a farm from his great-uncle because we did this.

    My grandparents must have rolled over in their graves when I got married in Vegas...by Elvis...to my boyfriend that I had been living with.  My Italian Catholic upbringing really paid off.
