ceglare/ anyone creative

ceglare-

I know you were talking about doing a ribbon board for your escort cards at one point. Are you still planning on that, and how are you doing it?

Anyone else have really great ideas to display escort cards besides the standard tented cards set up on a table?

Re: ceglare/ anyone creative

  • I am flattered! I have never seen my name in the same sentence as "creative" haha! I decided against a ribbon board for a couple reasons: I wanted flat cards and that's a little more difficult to do with a ribbon board. I also wanted something a little cleaner looking.

So instead we're going to buy a big sheet of corkboard and make a giant frame. I bought really pretty lavender fabric at Joann's that I'm going to cover it with, and FI and I made stick pins to hold the cards in place. We're making the frame out of white molding from a hardware store. It's actually pretty simple to do, you just have to make sure you don't make the board too big or too small.

  • I am NOT creative so I shouldn't have even read this, hahaha. We are doing a frame table with pretty frames, each table has its own frame, with some votives and pretty linens, it should be pretty, then everyone has their own place cards once they get to their table.
  • I am doing apples with labels.  I found this on pinterest.  I am going to buy the apples 2 days before the wedding. Most of the leaves have already been made.  I used labels and will peel off the stem part of the label to wrap around the apple.

  • I like your second idea too.

I also have seen it done where someone lists each table like butterfly suggested on one giant poster type thing on an easel. is that tacky because they wont have their own escort cards?

  • I don't think the giant poster ideas is tacky at all, I like the way it looks. The only reason I didn't go that route was because I wanted everyone to have their own card in case they didn't go right from the board to the table. I didn't want people to have to remember a number. Sounds trivial I know but I figured it might be easier for everyone to have a card, rather than remember their table.

  • These are all really nice ideas.

Someone else on here is doing something similar to LADY's but with a re-purposed window... I forget who, but I always liked that idea, too.

I unforunately have run out of creativity, money, and giving a sh*t when it comes to escort cards, so we're just using the ones the venue provided and my FMIL will write them out for us.

This is pretty much what I told my mom so she said I already bought the frame I will do it.  But our biggest pain in the as* is having to ship our photomat paper to our calligrapher to get it done.  And once I get it back there is no more changing any tables around.  Unless we just have her write the names out and then we do the numbers which might not be such a bad idea!!

  • we are doing this to go with our beach theme:

    Daisypath Anniversary tickers
  • We're doing LADY's idea, but on a large mirror.

LADY - How are you doing this? I'd love to hear. My original plan was to write each name out myself, but now I'm starting to think that I'm less crafty than I think I am.

  • This is ours..we're doing a will call style...

    Inspiration:

    Ours (without the cards)

  • We are doing river stones that my mom and I collected in Nova Scotia in the summer! I am going to write on them with a purple paint pen. The stones are really nice. Most are oval and VERY soft!

I made our escort card holder.  I used three pieces of foam board and glued them together into a triangle.  I covered them will really nice paper it is almost like fabric in maroon and then put silver cord on the edges where the boards meet.  We are going to print each guests name and table number on business cards then pin them with straight pins to the board.  This will tell guests what table they are at then they will also have a escort card at their table.  Here is a picture it's from my phone so it's not that great.
