I think I'm gonna do it

Flights to SF next week aren't that bad. Really, about what I paid when I bought my last flight there- and that was with 2 months notice. And if I don't go then, we are looking at waiting until November before I can go. May as well see where this thing goes.

  • Oh, what's that? Saturday? Well Mod, I'd love to give you a SECOND CHANCE to be internet besties with me, but I'm currently trying to chose my day trip. Napa, Carmel, or Monterey?

  • Yay!  I like this idea :)
  • Napa or Monterey

  • Go to Yountville in Napa and eat at Bouchon or Ad Hoc.  Trust me.

  • I am a planner. this whole thing is so impulsive for me. what will i do when i go out of town and i'm not in the driver's seat???

  • Let go, Mo.  Jump in.  Well, whatcha waiting for?
  • THURSDAY. Oy. i get there abt 830 thursday night, and leave sunday morning. Nuts.

  • Woo!  I have to admit, I'm a little jealous of your fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants-ness (even if it's out of character for you).  I think it'll be awesome, and I'm gonna need some good stories when you return so I can live vicariously through you
  • I'm all for the flying pants and all, it's just the whole date that lasts a whole weekend that is stressing me out. I've already done a google search of him. He's legit.

  • Good for you!
    image Ready to rumble.

  • and hey, maybe if you marry this one, you won't end up divorcedaroo w/in 10 min.
  • mulva. i've been single for 2 years now. the big D ain't exactly a scarlette letter, ya know?

  • ha! scarlet. whatev.

  • oh no, i dont think it's a burned A on your chest. i'm just hoping you get more mileage out of the next one.
  • that won't be hard.

  • Mod, what do you know about Bay Street Mall. He lives above (?) it.
    image
  • lurker popping in here- Bay Street is in Emeryville- East Bay, between Oakland and Berkley. Its a relatively new area with tons of condos and shopping. It used to be a warehouse district that has been reborn. Just want to throw out there (as a lurker who has met Mod, and I think she would vouch that I'm not crazy) that if it doesn't work out, I'm close by and would be happy to help if I can.
  • Awww, that's very sweet of you! Let's hope it doesn't come to that! I just googled the mall. I likey. He is supposed to plan a day trip out of the city. I am trying not to give any input, but I kinda really want to see the redwoods. Am I a huge dork?
    image
  • you are not a dork, the redwoods are amazing- but depending on how far you want to go, seeing the redwoods could be a trip. Another option is Redwood Regional Park in Oakland- not too far from Emeryville. Or, head to Marin- gorgeous but crazy with tourists on the weekends. If you want to stay in the East Bay and get some nature, go to Mt Diablo and see the tarantula's- it's mating season* * accoring to my H, I have no personal knowledge of this.
  • Lorne and I always end up staying in Emeryville (the hotels there always give us killer deals through priceline) and I've been to Bay Street many times. I'm actually wearing pants I bought from the Ann Taylor Loft there.

  • Good for you!  Have fun. I hope you get to see the Redwoods, and that it is a great weekend for you!
  • the redwoods are so freaking cool. It's really one of those things you read about in books and see pics, but can never really get the feel of how neato it is until you are there. Def do the redwoods.
  • Go, Mo!  I'm so excited for you.  I hope you have a blast!
  • Good for you. Your first meeting sounds like something out of a chick flick so I'm curious is he more of a John Cusack or a Tom Hanks?
I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz
  • Thanks for all the support ladies. I leave Thursday after work. We talk every day, sometimes several times a day. It's very easy and fun right now. Now, instead of worrying that it will be awful, I worry that I'll like him too much and how on EARTH will we deal with that?? AHhhh, one step at a time.
