Well, as I told him, if I'm going to hate him, I'd rather get it over with. We had originally talked about doing a visit in November, but this week opened up for both of us, so I decided to pony up and get this ball rolling. I gotta say though, even my bad dates (Anyone remember the cop in Cincinatti??) wind up giving me a lot to laugh about. When you date as much as I do, you gotta take the good with the bad.

mulva said lots of things that i'm thinking.  more often than not, cops are douchebags.  that'd probably be a dealbreaker for me right there.  i'm sure there are some cops who don't have a total god-complex, but i haven't met any.  and personally, i think any guy that charters a flight so you don't have to wait alone for a half-hour is being a show-offy douchebag, not a gentleman.  thirdly, i'm in the "if he were that great, he'd have been snagged by now" camp.  again, i know it's not always fitting, but seeing as how he's already walking like a duck and quacking like a duck... well, you get it.   however,  i fully support this fling if it gets you to hawaii... or longer.  maybe if it works out, you guys can joke about what a douchebag he seemed like at the very beginning.

oh oh. oh I am so anti-cop. of course that comes from 3+ years of my ex. oh ick. Is he Oakland PD? and please please please be careful. Also based on what you have said, I am going to assume he is in a condo in Emeryville and mortgaged to the hilt. But I am going to hope he is wonderful.
