It was awesome

My trip was perfect. I have no complaints or issues. I am going to Hawaii with him at Christmas to meet his family.

Sounds great! I don't really know the backstory, but I got the jist- a date, in another city- sort of like "Holidate"... Details?
  • That's really great but I'm jealouse about Hawaii.
I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz
  • It's actually all kind of a blur. I got in Thursday night, had dinner in North Beach. He texted my sister some calming stuff, because she was a little BSC the day of, so it put her at ease. He also continued to send her pics of me over the weekend so she could see I was alive and well. I joked that we should do one with duct tape on my mouth and that day's newpaper but he wasn't biting. Ummmm, lets see. He met me the next morning with diet mountain dew (my favorite) and took me to the redwoods in Muir Woods. He's a photography junkie so he took a zillion pics and I kept saying, "look at that big tree!" Then we went down to Half Moon Bay for lunch, and walked the beach. On our way back into the city, we stopped at a little roadside pull-off by the GG bridge to take a picture, and then we stuck around and watched the sunset. Went back into the city and shopped a little, then had dinner but I can't remember where. Yesterday we went to breakfast. Sears had a line down the street, so I said we should just skip it and eat there on another trip out. We became and old married couple yesterday. We ate breakfast and read the newspaper. Then he took me for a little tour of neighborhoods and we went into GG park. Walked through there, and settled into a bench where we watched those minature motor boats zoom around. We talked about dog names. Then we went to a sporting goods store by the bay, got a blanket and took it to Chrissy Feild or Chrissy Park...I don't know. It's a beach area. Got some street vendor food and laid out. I think it was 74 degrees. There were dogs and sailboats everywhere. So we hung out there and took a nap. He snores, a LOT. We both had to get up early today, so last night we went to a movie (couples retreat- funny, good date movie) where I discovered he was my SOUL MATE. He got himself a Tupperware bowl, so that we could pour his popcorn into it, and not have to share the bag. SOUL MATE. I have been trying to get dates to get off my popcorn for years. I then revealed that I often take my own pop into the theater, and he does too. So we loaded my purse up with drinks. Like I said, old married couple. After the movie we went to the Barnes and Noble, looked around there, and then had dinner. I stayed at his house last night, and was again greeted with a diet mountain dew when I woke up. He also packed me a snack pack of pringles for the flight.

Wow. Sounds dreamy. Haha. Love the popcorn thing. But, Mo, was this a blind date? Or someone you already had met? I don't need a repeat of the whole thing...just wanted a scenario.
  • I was in SF a couple weeks ago with my sis, and met him one night when I was in a horrible tourist bar. He took my sis and I to better bars, and then he and I walked the city until morning. Then exhanged numbers and I left. He's originally from Hawaii- still has a house there, and now lives in SF. He's a Libra, which I think is a good match for an aquarian, no?

  • I'm glad you had a great weekend Mo!

  • ooh, plans to meet the fam! :DSounds like you had a great time-- he sounds way better than that loser you were going out with in that dream I had about you. The popcorn, diet mountain dew, and pringle packing lead me to believe that you are soul mates and are going to get married on a mountain top.

  • Sounds like a great guy and I'm so glad you had a good time.

  • I joked that we should do one with duct tape on my mouth and that day's newpaper but he wasn't biting. I am glad you had fun but the fact that he didn't go for this makes me sad.So, meeting the family seems a little more than casual, but maybe that is just a chance to see Hawaii. of course, the wording suggests the point is to meet the fam.So, any pics?
  • Yay! Glad you had a great time!

  • lol, yeah winged, me too. Me too. But his arguement was that if my sis is already stressed, her sense of funny might be off. She would have been on the the next flight to SFO. I'm not sure what the Hawaii trip is about. Obviously, I will meet the family, but we'll be staying at his place there, so it takes some pressure off the event. I'm getting the impression his family Christmas is huge. There was a wedding at his mom's house yesterday with almost 400 guests.
