At the club where I used to coordinate corporate events, our Korean bartender went by "Neil". Not just at work-- he went by it all the time. I asked him one time if he found it annoying to go by a different name. It turns out he named himself after Shaq, so he was cool with it.I bet not everyone is so lucky though.

One of my coworkers changed his name from Chan to Chandler to appear American. Dude, nobody's going to see you and say "I thought he was Aisan, but his name is Chandler, so he must not be."
