HALP--Kindle Kovers

OK, I'm buying my Kindle RIGHT NOW and I need to know which cover to get. I really like the purple leather M-Edge, but not for $50.

how will you read it? On public transport or at home? Are you clumsy? I bought the tuff-luv platform and i love it.

Shhh! Look away!Hmmm. Only one of the covers is available for next day shipping and it's ugly. Dammit. Maybe I won't get it right now. I wanted to take it on my trip but not without a cover.

it fits nicely in a netbook sleeve which you should be able to pick up at Target

so my tuff-luv cover provides a lot of protection, imo, because it encases my kindle in leather and has some padding on it. I stuck a piece of double sided tape on the back of the Kindle to hold it even more securely.

GAH, I'll wait til I get back. Are the hinges not that sturdy?

some people say the hinges have cracked their kindles. I don't know anyone that has happened to. I had the original cover and I didn't like that the Kindle could flop about a little on the hinges. I also didn't like that I could get my hand between the kindle and the cover on the back. And even with the closure I felt like too much of the sides and top were exposed allowing grunge to get on my kindle. but i am picky

Mod is carazy about covers. I have the M-Edge and love it.  I think it's worth $50.

I have a cheapo one that I bought on Ebay, but it's done me great so far.  I've dropped it from 1-2 feet without problems yet.

I have the M-Edge Prodigy with hinge in red leather and I love it.  Totally worth $45, and I've had no problems with the hinge or feeling like it's not secure.[url]http://tinyurl.com/ydcfktq[/url] .

I have the M-Edge platform without the hinges for my DX and love it.

Also, Mod can correct me if I'm wrong, but the hinge problem was not with the M-Edge hinge.  It has little straps at the outer corner that holds the Kindle secure to the back.

I got an M-Edge but I am exchanging it for one like fallin's that has a clasp!
