So last night one of my old college friends IMed me on facebook. We weren't super close or anything but we were in the same major. Anyway, it was a nice light conversation until we started catching each other up on everyone from our college days who had died. It made me feel very very old. I am not even 40 yet people.

some people in my HS class have died... but mostly from suicides and random sh*t.. nothing like strokes or breaking a hip. We're probably close in age.

same as mulva here. I have had suicides and freak accidents. A couple that I wasnt close to but heard about died from cancer though. But I think that is not uncommon.

Mod, we are not old.  Tony has face book friends he went to HS with who post photos of their kids getting married.  That's going to make me feel old when that starts happening to me.

Mod, the same thing has happened here as well. Half of the people who lived in my dorm freshman year are dead. It is weird and disconcerting.

thank you. I do not want to be old. The deaths that were discussed the most last night were a classmate from AIDS, one from pneumonia, and one had a heartattack. Sigh. Then Mr. Mod decided to make me feel young by reminding me a guy I dated in HS is a GRANDFATHER.

oh, i forgot about the boyfriend from Jr. High that is on death row. That just makes me feel weird.

A girl I went to HS with is a great-grandmother.  I can't figure out how it's possible -- I think they must be stepchildren/grandchildren.

You know, I was trying to think of an actual number because half was an exaggeration. But out of all the guys who lived there, it actually was half. Hmmph. I am thankful for my vagina.Then again, there were only 6 of them. I still don't like those odds.

I know a couple of people from my grade school who died.  I just found out about a few suicides from people in other classes about two weeks ago.

Oh Mod, you are not old.  You are young.  And perhaps even more important, you LOOK very young.  Every once in a while I hear about someone from my HS/college class who died.  It's shocking, but as Mulva (I believe) said, none were age-related deaths.
