Did you hear anything today??  I've been anxiously waiting all day!  I thought about it a few times at work tonight!!

omg i even mentioned to my fiance that one of my internet friends put an offer on a gorgeous house and i was wondering how it was going for her...fiance looked at me like i was crazy!! so please update us!!!

Aw thanks for thinking of me!!

I'm going crazy here. We're still in the middle of negotiating. We are getting there, I think. The seller and we have been going back and forth- we just put in our 3rd counter offer about an hour ago. Our realtor is optimistic.

It kind of feels like the game, chicken- battling to see who gives in first. I go to sleep thinking about numbers, I dream about it, I wake up thinking about numbers.

I am hoping to get this settled within a couple of days. HOPEFULLY!

Thats insanme. I would feel like the seller isn't really wanting to sell if this is going to be their 3rd offer they can put down.  I'd go in there and tell them this is my finally offer, take it or leave it.
How long has the house been on the market?

I think they really don't want to go down any lower- they've taken a huge hit with their house already. It has been on the market for three years. But right now we are around $7,500 apart. It started off with being $29,000 apart so I believe we are getting there!

At least they haven't declined completely- they're trying to give us deals but not the type of deals that we want.

Wow.. 3 years!! i would be over the moon if I was getting an offer on my house after that amount of time. and 7,500 isn't that far apart when talking about a house.

i would say...either go in and say 1) this is our FINAL OFFER TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT WE AREN'T GOING ANY HIGHER!! or 2) do a "meet in the middle" and make an offer that is halfway between your last offer and their last demand.  these are the two techniques we use in mediations when both sides are reasonably close in numbers, but haven't been able to agree yet....good luck!!!!!!!!

I'm going crazy here! We're now only $5,000 apart and I'm not giving up. We just did our final offer, but we are willing to go halfway if they don't accept our "final" offer as suggested by the realtor. I expect this to be over with by tonight, hopefully.
