So my idea of my theme for the wedding was whimsical, colors are teal and purple (peacock without feathers), glitter, crystals, etc. I think I have that down for my reception between my DIY centerpieces (mirror plates with wine bottles painted white with shimmer with baby's breath inside with candles on top of the mirror to give a flickering look), my cake which will look like this:
So yeah I think reception is good. Here's the ceremony problem. I had these ideas and my mom and her friend have taken them and made them very old fashioned. The ceremony is in a chapel with stained glass windows, I have a feathery crystal guest book and pin, purple silk rose petals for the aisle, but the things they have made/bought are pew markers made of doileys and tulle that babys breath will go inside, they want my vintage typewriter I bougt so they can decorate...they want to decorate a decoration lol...they bought these huge 70's style bows to put on the doors outside the church, and then the things below to put around tables and such. I am so grateful for their help that I can't ask them to change what they have bought and made, all I'm looking for is to add things that are more "my style." I think it's harder for ceremony decor but any ideas or stories of what you guys did would be aweosme!
