Hall Of State, any opinions?

Hi!

I'm going to look into the Hall of State for the ceremony and reception. has anyone been to a wedding there?  or is planning on attending or having their wedding there?

Please let me know what you think of the venue... was the experience good? bad? cost?

Hmmm, it looks nice but it could be expensive.  That looks to be the same (exclusive) caterer as Arlington Hall (bad sign) and they use Frosted Art as their cake vendor.  ($4 pp cake cutting fee if you use someone else--ouch.)

$4 pp cake cutting fee--that is RIDICULOUS. That's aalmost three times the cost of my CAKE

I think the Hall of State could be very original because I don't recall anyone else on here using them.  However, be very careful about the catering if what Stephie says is true (I just don't have time to read their stuff right now).  However, if you get a break on the cost of using their preferred vendors (sometimes that does happen), then it might not be such a bad idea.  It can't hurt to look.

Hey girls!  I'm new to the boards and thought I could help Beth!

I'm having my wedding this summer at the Hall of State!  I love the facility!  It is so unique! 

As far as the catering company goes, they worked with my budget!  Beth Albright is the catering rep. as well as the events coordinator at HOS.  She has been wonderful to work with! 

I suggest that you just go talk to her and let her know what your budget is.  I'm sure that she can work with you!

The Hall of State is my favorite building, and I love Fair Park. I think the location would be perfect for us! We are HUGE Texas history people.  I will call Beth at the HOS and set an appointment. Thanks for your help!

We are praying for 150!!!! Although, I think it's going to be closer to 200-225!  The guest list is out of control!
