Would it be weird...

...if I didn't have a bouquet? I don't really feel a desire to have one, and it seems so senseless to drag it around all the time. It's just not something I really care about. I might wear some flowers in my hair instead, or have no flowers at all.

Re: Would it be weird...

  • that is perfectly fine with me =)  It is your day!
  • I think its perfectly fine not to have a bouquet.  It's your wedding so do what you want. :)

  • I think it's fine - do what you want!

I just wouldn't know what to do with my hands when I'm walking down the aisle if I didn't have a bouquet to hold, so I definitely want one.

  • Is that you don't want to carry a bouquet because you don't care for flowers? Or you just don't want to have to carry anything at all?

however i do agree with bmore - i am glad i am going to have a bouquet because it gives me something to hold onto and i don't have to worry about my hands doing anything awkward.

    Me too!

But if you don't want one, it doesn't say anywhere that you have to have one!

I see. Well you definitely don't have to carry one if you're not comfortable. But even if you decide to carry a bouquet for the ceremony, you're not required by any means to have to drag it along all day long lol. Set a nice vase aside for you to put in after you walk down the aisle and add it to your reception decor. Or give it to a family member after the ceremony as a sentimental gift :)
  • I'm with the others- I'd like to hold onto something rather than worrying about what to do with my hands! :)

But really, it's your decision- if you don't want one, then there's no reason to have one! Not a big deal at all!

  • Are you walking down the aisle with anyone? If so, there's even less of a need for a bouquet - you can just link arms and it won't be awkward! Just a thought. :)

I'm having a bouquet and I actually just got an email from my florist that my FMIL paid for it! That was a nice surprise and very sweet of her.

My FMIL carried a Bible instead of a bouquet, I've also heard of brides carrying a rosary instead of flowers as well. She also planned her wedding in 2 weeks so that may have had something to do with it as well, idk.
I thought of doing this before she had even told me thats what she had done but i decided to go with flowers myself.
