Snarky Brides

Friday morning blues.

I hate waking up earlier than usual, it puts a kin in my whole day. Now I hace to drop my sister off at school and bring coffee to my mom at the hospital. I see a nap in my future.

How has your Friday started off?
Any fun plans for the weekend?
Are you a early bird or a sleeper inner?

Re: Friday morning blues.

  • I like to sleep in. But it is 10:30 a.m. in my neck of the woods.

  • Friday is starting out slow. The usual work stuff.
I have nothing going on this weekend, at all.
I loooooove sleep, and sleeping in.
  • How has your Friday started off? No traffic on way to work at 7am so that's good (Houston traffic is a bia), not much going on at work

Any fun plans for the weekend? Relaxation, massage appointment tomorrow. Going to watch 'The last exorcism' movie tomorrow night.

Are you a early bird or a sleeper inner? Oh, I am known to wake up at 1 or 2 pm on weekends !

I am still ma little loopy from the drugs they gave me from the surgery yesterday. I was hoping to sleep in, but my cats had another idea. They decided to stage world war three outside my door.

Our Jack & Jill is tomorrow! I can't wait. Before anyone starts to give me the side eye, it is not te kind of Jack & Jill where we collect money through raffle tickets. More of a shower with a combined bachelor/bachelorette party tomorrow night.

I would love to sleep in, but I never seem able to do it. The Percocet they gave me made me itchy all night, and the cats had me up at 7.

  • I pretty much answered the first 2 questions in the Good Morning thread.

I'm an early to rise type of person. I rarely sleep past 6:30 am.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • The fog here is crazy, im waiting for it to start raining. Los Angeles had a severe thunder storm warning yesterday afternoon which was weird because it was only slightly foggy here. What im trying to say is, im cold.

  • I am freaking out about one of my classes. It is effectively ruining my life. I hate TAs who know what they're teaching so well that everything is easy so they say it is simple. No asshole. It isn't simple. I hate that he is unclear, jumpy, and a compulsive lip licker. I hate how short my university's add/drop period is. I definitely have blues this morning.

  • I overslept, so I'm currently applying makeup at my desk. Awesome times.

I am going to a wedding this weekend - Ben's cousin. As I've lamented here a time or two this week I've been looking for a dress and I finally found one last night. I think it can double as my rehearsal dinner dress...

I'm a sleeper inner - this morning especially. It's mostly because my family are night people. I never go to bed before 1:30 am, unless I'm with Ben. Then it's around midnight. But I have no problems staying up til 3 or 4 in the morning, doing absolutely nothing constructive.

  • I'm home from work now and waiting for a phone call. After that I'm turning in for a nap. I might go to the store later for some ground beef and apples. I have nothing planned for the weekend other than chores and sleeping in. I hate getting up earlier than 9.
  • So far today has been great. It was cool enough last night that we coudl shut off the AC, open the windows and run the ceiling fan. It was so nice to be able to hear all the animals outside, feel the wind, and slept so well.

Now I'm watching The Secret life of Bees, reading a smutty book and enjoying my last Friday of freedom :)
  • My Friday has started out pretty good, and my weekend doesn't have any super exciting plans.

I am kind of blue now, though. H has been applying for every job out there and hasn't heard anything back, from both jobs that's he's qualified for and legitimately wants and jobs in the supermarket, since you don't need a college degree to stock shelves. We're fine moneywise until he gets something, but I can tell it's really getting to him. I want to do something nice for him, but I don't know what I can do.

And I'm a total late sleeper.
  • Sorry you've got the blues!

My morning started off pretty well. I had a burst of creativity and tacked another 6 pages onto my thesis. So that was awesome. And I'm excited to be going home for the weekend for a high school pal's wedding. So many people to see!

Yeah! I mean, they need a ton of editing, but there they are. I get into these weird moods where it's like I HAVE to write, and the rest of the time it's like pulling teeth.

Seshat, do you go through any of that in your writing?
  • NS, that is so frustrating! I hate that, too.

Jelique, I must have missed it - why is your mom in the hospital?

We're volunteering (the whole family - the kids aren't exactlyl thrilled) at a neighborhood festival tomorrow. Then on Sunday there's a fun "Ride the Drive" city-wide event where they close major streets to car traffic and allow only bicycles.

  • My Friday did not start off as I hoped it would. My dog was a little brat and started barking an hour and a half before I wanted to wake up. I tried to sleep through it. Now that we're all awake and she's happily sleeping on her pillow bed (she sleeps in a crate at night) my Friday morning is better.

We are going to a preseason football game tomorrow and having dinner with my family on Sunday.

I like to sleep in, but I cannot sleep in past 7:30 without being groggy the rest of the day.

Oh yeah. There are nights when I write 10 to 20 pages straight, others when it takes me three hours to write 1 paragraph.

It's this one: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Short-Strapless-Cotton-Sateen-Dress-39261_Special-Occasions-Features-All-Dresses - in black. Kinda bridesmaidish, but I'll live.

I didn't really want to do David's Bridal - But whatever. I looked all over this damn town. I did find a really cute black and white leopardish print dress that I looked good in - but it was kinda tight. I felt really slutty in it and wasn't sure it would be appropriate for meeting Ben's extended family. Ha!

AATB - My one bridesmaid wore that dress and she looked smokin'. It' cute enough to wear other places, but totally appropriate. Plus, she loved the pockets.

    Edited for bad typing.
  • Aw, I love that. Not bridesmaidish at all. I mean, maybe in a "this is the coolest bride ever who let me pick out something super flattering and rewearable" sort of way.
  • I do love the pockets! It's isn't ENTIRELY bridesmaidish - but I have seen some weddings where the bridesmaids wore this dress. So a tiny part of me is kinda freaking out hoping that the ones this weekend won't be wearing it and if they are, hopefully they're wearing a different color. Haha!

  • Oh sorry, I did not post about this before. My mom is NOT in the hospital but my moms girlfriend/wife IS. She had to go in today to have surgery for female issues. I actually just got back from the hospital, they took her appendix out and ran a bunch of tests. She might need to have a hysterectomy if this surgery dose not fix the problem. But for now she is high as a kite on pain meds so she is doing okay lol.
