A friend of mine who I haven't been close with since high school called me because she recieved a letter that had a wedding announcement and a sticking note writen by "me" saying something like, "Love you, girl! Since I can't marry you, I want the next best thing: Be my Maid of Honor!"
Now, I have been engaged for about six months, and my cousin has been named my Maid of Honor for five. I definitely didn't send that letter. I have noooo idea who did. I was trying to convince myself it's a marketting scam, but I'm not sure how anyone making money off this. I know my address and personal information has been leaked, but I don't know how they connected it to hers.
Has anyone else come accross a similar distressing scenario? Any leads? Thanks for any help.
