Happy Birthday, Girl Scouts!

Re: Happy Birthday, Girl Scouts!

  • The only song that I knew the words to was the "I don't wanna go to girl scout camp" one.  My best friend felt bad for me since I couldn't understand the words to any of the songs that they sang, so she wrote out the whole thing for me.  I think I still have that piece of paper somewhere in a box.  I remember there was a line about a doughnut rolling off a table and killing someone.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Happy Birthday, Girl Scouts! : OA is a big deal!  I have a friend who just got his Wood badge or some other sort of adult Boy Scout thing. I buy GS stuff on e-bay, no lie. I collect old pins.

<div>Yeah, H talks about it all the time.  I think you would get along with him splendidly.  He is also a Disney fanatic, and I think I remember you mentioning that you love Disney too? Or am I confusing you with someone else?</div><div>
</div><div>You should stop by the museum sometime! It's not a huge exhibit, but it's kinda cool.  That was the first time I'd been there, and I was shocked at how small the whole museum is, and the lack of security.  Coming from DC, I'm used to the enormous Smithsonian museums with metal detectors, armed guards, etc. </div>

  • Sorry, Pirate, work called.  YES those little pin things!  Only they weren't always flag-colored or -shaped.  We used to pin them to our shoelaces.  You'd make them with different patterns and beads to hand out, and if you had a whole assortment of them you knew you made a whole bunch of new "friends".  Of course, you'd never see those "friends" again, but YKWIM.

[QUOTE]I want to know what your blog rant was about, Pirate ;) (Half of my posts are missing too... they all seem to be in one mystery thread that I randomly end up in).

Rant is the wrong word, I just don't know what to call it. Soapbox, maybe.

Ha yes, the NC museums don't hold a candle to the Smithsonians, but they're such a good (free) resource for the state.  I love them.  I almost stopped by today since you'd mentioned it.  My problem is that I'm always walking by right before they open or right as they're closing.

ETA: Who doesn't love Disney :)
