Snarky Brides

Ugh. The Miranda calls are back.

I was complaining several months ago that I was constantly getting calls for a Miranda, sometimes as much as 3 times a day, and when I told them they had the wrong number and asked them to stop calling, they'd say they deleted me from their list but then they'd call me again 3 weeks later.  Some of them were even really nasty to me, like I was lying about not being Miranda.

I got rid of them by asking what her last name was and looking her up so I could give them her home phone number.  (heheh).  And I got an airhorn for the rude ones, which some of you didn't think was funny, but it worked, too.

The calls stopped for almost 2 months and then started up again just recently.  That stupid bitch is still giving out my phone number as hers whenever she doesn't want to be contacted.  I get spam texts that say "thank you for registering for your free $500 target gift card" and someone just called to give me information Miranda had requested about "going to college."

I'd love to show up at her house and kick her in the crotch but I don't want to go to jail.

Do it, find her and throw fish on her roof. I though the airhorn was pretty funny.
  • You need to call Miranda!

  • Two ideas:

    1.  Call Miranda and leave her a message:
"Hi, Miranda!  I'm concerned that you're missing some of your calls because you keep giving out my number instead.  On Saturday, James called and said you're a bitch.  On Sunday, Target text you that you won a million dollars."  And so on

    2.  Start calling Miranda and asking for someone else.
  • I get this too. It's for a Sandra. I have told them countless times and I still get the calls sometimes and the random  texts. I registered my cell on the national do not call list. It helped with random calls but since the wench gives my number they still call sometimes.

I think the air horn is a great idea.

Is your number something easy, or regular (like 555-1234 kinda deal)?  I would want to track down Miranda and kick her too.

  • We have got to figure out Miranda's last name and number so we can register her for every gym membership, political database and free vacation giveaway we can find.

  • H had this problem when he switched phone numbers, only it was debt collection agencies calling. He'd tell them "So and so doesn't have this number anymore" and they wouldn't believe him and it went on for months. Finally, he had to get in contact with the Indiana Secretary of State, and they did an investigation. The calls have stopped for now, but I imagine they'll start again soon.

I love this and the fish idea. Probably a combination of the two.

My number isn't easy at all.  She's intentionally giving it out.  It was probably her old number or something.  I get calls from the hospital about unpaid bills (they stopped when I gave them her home number).

In funnier news, I searched "recourse for someone giving out your phone number" and the first hit on Google was "Is there any legal recourse if someone steals your weed?"

I have it.  Let's do it. I wish cell phones were searchable because that would be even better.

Can we write her name and number on dirty restroom walls??
  • Sure!

Holy chit.  I just looked her up on FB and we have a mutual friend.
  • Since you have her number, start giving her number out to creepy guys that ask for your number at bars and clubs.

Married in Vegas - June 2011

  • I used to give my old married name and FuckEX's number to any guy who asked for my number in a bar. He kept asking me if I was doing it, but never once got smart enough to give them my real number! Dumbass.

Is Miranda one of those with tons of friends just to be "popular" on FB? You should try to friend her, Heels. Then you can find out tons more information and we'll start registering her on spam lists and the like. :)
  • I get calls and texts for "Angelina" all.the.time.  And the callers are extremely rude, seriously, don't yell at me when you call.  I like this idea of getting her last name and new number and sending it on.

Oooooo, since she's a friend of a friend you can probably see LOTS.  And, like, write on her wall and stuff.  Maybe see her current phone number....  You should add her.

Yes, she has over 1,000 friends.  I hope this isn't really her, because it's not the same one who's number I've been giving out.  Her first name isn't Miranda, it's her middle name, so I asked our mutual friend if she goes by Miranda.  If so, I have a dilemma.

Pirate, me too!  Is it those Publishers Sweepstakes assholes?

collection agency out of Arizona.  Or lots of "thnx for signing up for..." texts (txt STOP to unsubscribe is ususally involved)
  • The plot thickens....I can see it now, some more non-evil Miranda is getting phone calls from people and cursing you, while the real Miranda is laughing her butt off.
  • Yes, I get those too.

Maybe she changed it to get rid of all those pesky callers once you started sending them back. =P
  • Heh.  Touche.
  • This sucks. Sorry, Heels. :(

  • Yeah, I'm a bitch, but I'd start giving out HER number.  See how she likes it.  Since clearly she has no plans to stop.

Everything the light touches is my kingdom.

  • I like the idea that you start calling her, asking for you. Call her friends who call you and ask if she is there. At like, four in the morning. Nightly.
Seriously, just change your number to an unlisted one-- or if you can, get a new number in a family member's name instead of yours for a while.

    Her friends sound "challenged".
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, WHOA. Lois, this is not my Batman glass."
  • Have you searched her on pipl.com?  I love searching for people on pipl.
