Gmail question

I bet you all know this and I don't. If you change your Gmail address, can you have your email from your old address forwarded? You can, right? I'm not doing it correctly. Someone help? Please?

    I think you have to set up the OLD account to forward to the new one.  I did that with a non gmail account to have it forward to my primary email account.

    Hmm. I have my gmail account forwarding to a hotmail account, but I don't know how to do it with gmail.

    Log into your old gmail account, click on Settings (upper right corner) then choose the tab that says Forwarding and POP/IMAP.

    Does the forwarding address just send things to the address you type in? (Assuming yes)

    I think so, it offers filtering options as well so you can choose to only forward SOME mail but not all.

    I'm not 100% sure though since as I said, I have forwarding coming from another system to my gmail.  But I think this should be the right way to do it.

    I am having a hard time parting with my maiden name gmail. I have a married one, but I like my old one.

    Well, now my Droid has my married name gmail, and two friends and I email each other every day back and forth all day and this is on my maiden name one, and I don't want my phone making notifications every time one of us quotes Family Guy or some other stupid shiit.

    MIAF. I just did this. Let me know if you still have questions/need help :) you can email me too... steph0871 at gmail.

    Basically, what I do/did- log into old email and set to forward to new email. Then go to new email and set it up to be able to send as the old account too. (If you want.)  Basically, I can now use my new account as both my old and new. :)
