South Carolina ladies?

There's a strong showing of SC gals here, right?  (heels?  Bec?)  Am I off by a few states?  Anywho, I've lived away from the East Coast for a few years and thankfully have forgotten the joys of summer humidity.  I'm going to South Carolina (Greenville to be exact) next week and am wondering whats weather appropriate to pack.  Are jeans wearable? Should I bring a light jacket or sweater for evening?  Is it just hot and miserable and I want to bring thin sundresses, a portable fan and multible bags of ice?

Halp?

Aww I love SC! I used to go to school 30 minutes outside of Gville. Heels, Bec and Cew are all NC though.
It should be hot and humid, I wouldn't wear jeans. I'd do dresses, shorts and tank tops. Bring a light sweater though just in case, especially with how cold AC tends to be.

I'm back in Ohio now, but I just recently moved back from Greenville.  It will be hot, and humid.  I vote for sundresses.  I love everything about Greenville except the humidity, I hope you have a good trip.

I just got married in Charleston in May, and it was very humid already. I kept a sweater with me for the evenings. But in the day wore summer dresses or shorts.

Have fun, I miss it already.

Not one person has said "its going to be in the low 60's and by the way we don't have humidity here anymore."

    Bummer.

If someone can tell me where that actually happens, I will move there.

You definitely won't want jeans. I wear sundresses every day during the summer. It's hot as hell and the humidity sucks. I doubt you will need a light jacket in the evening. It stays in the 70s - 80s all through out the night.

Greenville is so awesome! Have fun! And yeah, stick your face in a sweaty armpit for about 2 minutes if you want a preview of the weather here right now. Ick.

It's really not that bad...ok maybe it is that bad.  I'd go with sundresses with a light sweater for indoors, or shorts/capris if you're not comfortable in dresses or skirts.  Jeans won't be bad if you'll be indoors a lot, but you'll hate them if you're outside.  You likely won't need your light jacket at all unless you're somewhere like a restaurant under a vent and get cold easily.

    Nope, shouldn't be a problem.  :)

Yeah, East, the second half of your plan. I always take a pair of pants with me where ever I go, though, for lounging (like yoga pants) around.

I told J the other day I was actually impressed - Iowa was starting to feel a little like late spring in NC! I was a little damp on my forehead:)!

I agree.  I live in the Greenville area and it's just so humid.  Even at 7:30 this morning it just felt sticky outside.  Skirts, sundresses, and shorts are definitely the way to go.  It can be cold in some buildings so I would bring a light sweater but you definitely won't need it outside!

Erm, if you guys are sick of himidty you can move to Phoenix its nice and dry here. You go outside and feel like your being buried in dry, dry sand. So, if hell ounds appealing- move here!

roxy, I never minded that when my parents lived in Chandler! I'll take extra heat over humidity ANY day.

And, there IS a worse place than the Carolinas for heat/humidity. It's called mid/upper Louisiana. Trust me. 100 degrees, 90% humidity - we had to cancel afternoon camp activities to prevent heat exhaustion and stroke. We stocked a LOT of Pedialyte (the boys liked Gatorade, and would tend to fake it to come into the air conditioned first aid shack and drink the Gatorade).

I'm sure LC would back me up on this  - NOLA is bad in the summer too.

I live in Greenville, and if you are still checking this thread, it has been in the low to mid nineties all week so far. And nice and humid too. Definitely shorts, tanks, sundresses, and sandals/flip flops. But we had a breeze for about ten seconds yesterday, if that helps?

Ditto the others.  Have fun in Greenville!  They have some really good restaurants.
