Good (tired) Morning...

hey ladies...

I feel like this weekend is just one big mess of stuff to do...last night when FI was out on a play date (aka hung out with a guy friend) I sat on here and did nothing, which was awesome. But now my weekend is packed. This morning FI and I are going to try to do some errands before I leave for a baby shower at about 10:30 (because it is over an hour away!) and when I get back from the shower we are going to his parents for his birthday dinner. Tomorrow we are going to church, then he has his baseball league playoffs. The only good news is that they aren't that good of a team so they will probably play their two games, lose at least one, and we can go home. I know I am horrible for thinking that.

What are you all up to?

Re: Good (tired) Morning...

  • Good morning! I'm really not a baseball fan, so I admire you for being able to sit through two games.

Today is our first big football game. I'm so excited. Wake Forest plays Duke and I love our seats, so going to games is super fun. I just hope it's not too hot. That will be sucky.

I got my first phone call from Ben's teacher yesterday. ;( Apparently, he was arguing with some kid and the kid told him to 'shut it'. Ben's response was 'shut your ass'. Matt was going to take him to the airshow today, but his punishment is that he doesn't get to go. We also had him write a letter to the teacher apologizing.

<div>hahahahahaha! I don't mean to laugh but I am a teacher and I can just imagine the scene and having to call home. What grade is he in? I teach grade 8, my kids say that kinda stuff all the time. I talk to them about it but unless it becomes repetitive I don't call home. </div>
  • Good Morning Gals.  Cew-I was thinking about Ben.  This is my first year teaching Kindergarten after 8 years of the older grades.  I really like it but they are very tiring.  Enjoy your football game.  FI and I plan on sitting on the couch all day watching the games.

  • Aw, CEW, that's funny.  You're handling it well, too.  I don't think this will be the last time you get that phone call from a teacher, since Ben is so smart and outspoken.

  • Good Morning, Ladies!  Bike ride this morning, lunch with friends, football tomorrow w/ a bbq, grocery shopping and cooking.  Not much going on around here this weekend.

  • Good morning ladies. Im still laying in bed at the moment. I have a 40 pound dog on one side and a 60 pound dog on my legs. Getting up isnt an option at the moment. Im spending the weekend with my mom. My dad and J are hunting, so its a girls weekend. We wont be doing much though, my mom has a fractured pelvis.  Looks like a weekend of pizza and soft serve ice cream.

He's in kindergarten. It was such a weird conversation. The teacher didn't seem upset. She just wanted me to know about it so that we could nip it in the bud quickly. I feel bad because my first response was "oh wow. That's not even something that we say!". Which I now realize was not a good thing because I'm basically admitting that we do sad bad things. Oops.
  • Good morning!

Lesson learned: Do not tell Ben to shut it. Sorry Cew.

I think I'm going to TRY to write vows today. we'll see how that goes.

  • Morning! I think i'm going to order a Kindle here in the next couple of weeks. I've been wanting one for a couple months now, and I'm pretty much solidified on it now.

I've also decided that once I move back to the States, I'm going to take up running. FI was a long distance runner in college, team captain and the whole shebang, and still runs about 8 miles a day. He said he doesn't mind going at whatever pace I need, so I figured it'd be something he can help me get into, and then we can do it together and I can not be so sedentary anymore!
  • Morning.  I've been up for hours.  H is working today, so I got up with him, had braekfast and have just been sitting here chilling, doing puzzles in the paper.

I'm off shopping and for a massage today, so I'm excited.  Yay for spending money. Hopefully shopping will actually be kind of fun?  Who knows.

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

  • oh man CEW! I do kind of think the teacher was being a bit ridiculous calling you over that stuff.

I just rolled into work, got coffee and about to attack the piles of crap on my desk. I think it should be a fairly quiet day though with no big things going on this evening so I should be able to head out by 5 or 6.
  • Good morning! I'm exhausted. Emerson decided he was only going to sleep from 9:00-12:00 and then from 3:00-7:30, so I only got to sleep the 3:00-7:30 part.

I just thought I'd stop in and say hi!

Cew, I'm sorry, but your story makes me laugh. I am honestly expecting to get the same phone call in a few years. I should probably start working to prevent that now. haha .

  • Morning everyone. Today, my first order of business is vacuuming. Then I'm going to the landlords to bitch about our broken AC. We've been sleeping in the guest room, but that bed is way too small for the both of us. Plus, the bed transforms Whisky into a nutcase and he spends all night pouncing on our feet, biting our hair, and racing from corner to corner. I don't know what it is that gets him so excited.

Then I'm going grocery shopping. Fun stuff. But, on the plus side I get to look through my cookbooks and find recipes, which I love to do. I might try out a new pasta sauce with wine, we'll see.

Other than that, I'm pissy because my toe hurts. Like 3 months ago I had 2 plantars warts cut out and it took until now to heal. So basically I had a huge hole at least an inch wide keeping me from walking right. It healed, but now my doc has me putting this wart compound on my toe every night to prevent them from coming back, and the damn stuff takes off my skin. So I've traded one wound for another and I'm not happy.

    /rant.
  • LZ, it's amazing that you can always somehow change your sig pic to even cuter one of your son. He is adorable.

  • Happy Saturday!

Nothing too exciting is in the books today. I'm going to PetSmart eventually to get some new fish for my aquariums and maybe some curtain fabric. I finished my baby blanket yesterday so now I need to decide if I want to continue the baby blanket making, make a new purse, or make a scarf. Oh such important decisions in life!

It could always be worse Cew, apparently the first call my parents received about me was in kindergarden when I sprained another kids finger. My dad's reaction "Was he poking her again? Yes? Good for her then." (We had already spoken with the teacher, other kid's parent, principal, etc. and he was poking me enough to leave bruises. Dad told me next time to grab his finger and twist)
