Divorce Insurance

http://bucks.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/08/06/divorce-insurance-yes-divorce-insurance/

I think this is hysterical. Not only is the insurance not a wise financial move, but if you really feel you need this your marriage may already be done for.

  • I'm assuming the company makes its money from the fact that many of the people willing to buy insurance in the first place won't make it the four years required for the policy to mature.

My divorce insurance is called 'diick in a blender'. It's free.
  • I mean a prenup is one thing but this is just ridiculous.  If I was so scared that I was going to get a divorce...(duh duh duh music)... I wouldn't get married.

I agree.  I can understand a prenup in very specific circumstances.  I actually saw an activity in a marriage prep course once that you had to make a faux prenup  to make you understand the implications/ consequences of divorce in order to make your seriously consider if you were ready to get married.

But then again  one of my favorite quotes about marriage is Jada Pinkett Smith  saying that the way to make a marriage suceed is to never think that failure is an option.
