Thanks to those who told me to watch the season 6 finale! I figured out a way to watch at work today while I was slow. OMG, that was intense, and I'm glad I didn't just read a recap online like I was planning to. Now I can start catching up on S7. I hear the show has gotten good again.
SPOILER below for the ep....
I can't believe the made Meredith miscarry!

I'm reeally happy you ended up watching it. It's totally worth it, even if it had no connection to the current season.
[QUOTE]I freakin loved the 6 finale. I'm a few episodes behind this season. I HATE not having my DVR. I fell asleep and missed John Hamm on Conan last night and woke up cursing. If I don't get a DVR for Christmas, I'm buying one the day after.

Bec, they have the Season 7 eps on Hulu. At least the last few eps I think.
[QUOTE]No connection to the current season?! I really am interested in seeing how everyone deals with the aftermath. Ugh. I wonder if I can convince FI to do a Grey's marathon with me this weekend. He doesn't always have the patience for that show.

Oh no! Sorry, that came out wrong. It does have a connection.
What I meant to say was even if it didn't for some reason, it was such a good episode by itself that you'd really be missing out if you didn't see it.
I'm kinda annoyed with the direction some of the characters are going. I won't spoil it for you either but yeah... until last week it was kinda hard to watch. I just did out of obligation, almost. I'm hoping it will get better because I love the show.
I'm just whining here. Look away. Sorry for the threadjack!
AATB, I've been watching Grey's out of sense of obligation for a while now. I don't know who I owe this obligation though.

Ahem. McDreamy, McSteamy and Avery is who you owe the obligation!
How could you not want to see and hours worth of those handsome faces? : )
I have the same problem with The Office and Greys, Bec - but Ben has pool league on Thursday nights, and since he's not into Greys, I always watch that. Then we get to watch The Office on his DVR. Unfortunately, we're like, two weeks behind on The Office because he moved and didn't have cable for those episodes. I need to watch online...
I haven't minded this season so far, but it's not my favorite.
I talked about this with Nebb too - that I feel like once Jim and Pam got together, things went downhill. Not so much the dating, but them getting married and having a kid. So much of the tension between them was what made the show. I also hate that it's called Sabre and not Dunder Mifflin anymore. That seems like a small thing, but it matters to me.
Greys is similar for me. I watch it because I've always loved the show, so it's just what I do now. But regardless, those first 4 or 5 seasons that had the original crew with Izzy, George and Dr. Burke really grew on me. I agree with AATB, when i watch the show I sometimes get so sucked in that I feel like I too am a doctor working there with real people.
I guess it's like anything really. Once some time has gone by you feel nostalgia for the way things used to be.
I'm so behind on The Office too. And I agree it's not as good. The first three seasons are my favorite, and I think I'm watching it out of obligation too. So many of my favorite shows ended over the past 2 years (Lost, 24, Prison Break, Terminator), but I'm not really excited about any shows now. I watch Tru Blood and Mad Men on DVD so I'm still not caught up on those.
ETA - Al, I do watch, but not as often as I watch Greys. Last week's PP episode was... wow. It really struck me.
[QUOTE]Does anyone watch Private Practice?

I tried but I just couldn't get into it. I think it stems from me absolutely HATING when they'd combine the Greys/Private Practice shows a few seasons back because of Addison.
I was really into Greys and wanted to be submerged in it for the whole hour, not to have half the show be about a bunch of characters and things that i don't know or care about, KWIM?
It's just irritated me.

I do! I actually think it's better than Grey's right now.

They have some really good episodes. The last one was insane. All the characters have slept with each other though, so they may need to introduce some new charcters at some point.

Seriously. I'm just waiting for everyone to get some kind of STD, or everyone is pregnant. Including the guys.
Avery's eyes make a part of my die a little everytime he looks at the camera.
Little Grey is stupid and I want her and McSteamy back together... but next week looks interesting to say the least!!!!
Yang is pissing me off this season, not going to lie. Get over it already. It's television, not RL.
