Im sure its not the same but I prefer regular dove over regular secret. I noticed over time the underarms of my shirts took on a... glittery look, when I used secret. Like I literally mean there was glitter all over it. I prefer dove now.
  • I like Dove. But also, suave makes a clinical kind now and it's considerably cheaper.

  • I like Dove as well....

*Married-  I didn't see Sauve making one, but maybe they didn't have it at my Target.  The Clinical strength is about $3 more then regular.

I don't think Dove had the clinical strength out last year when I was interested, so I'm faily certain I used the Secret one.  It worked well.

For everyday, normal wear, I prefer Dove!

  • Clincial secret, Dove for everyday wear.
  • I got the Suave kind at Target, but it looked fairly new. My Target may be special Tongue out It worked well and was about half the price. I'm cheap.

So you put the clinical on at night like directed on the box & then use Dove in the morning after you shower?
  • I've used Dove but had a reaction for whatever reason so I'm kind of stuck with Secret but never really had a large issue with it.  It does leave the glittery stuff though.
  • I tried the Dove clinical and one of the other ones, I don't remember which one now. My only problem with them is it was hard to get them off clothing and myself. I would scrub away in the shower and it sill felt like my armpits were kind of ... greasy? Anyway I tried switching soaps to no avail so I just stopped using the clinical strength. I didn't feel like there were that much better to warrant the other problems. Of course this was a year or two ago so they may be better now.
  • i use secret clinical for days when i know i'm going to be either really nervous (like job interview days) or really sweaty (like 4th of july family reunion outside days) and it's really good and i like the scent a lot, even if it is on the expensive side. i ran out of it and had to buy degree clinical once, and it's not as good.

I find it odd that secret has glitter in it. Why do underarms need to glitter?

I dont. I am wary of things that sparkle for no apparent reason, especially sparkly armpits.

Ok so you like the Secret better.  Did you put it on at night like the box says & in the morning after your shower....or just at night?

naa, the sparkles just draw attention to the fact that ive probably forgotten to shave.
  • But Nebb, think of the glittery little hairs.  That says beauty in every way.

  • I have found that better than all of those is the unscented Mitchum solid gel. It is awesome, even as much as I work out, and since it is unscented, it doesn't leave that sweaty flowery scent on you.

For those of you who have a hard time getting the deodorant out of your shirts, add some plain white vinegar in with your laundry detergent. The acid helps to break down the aluminum in the deodorant so it can get out of the fabric. The aluminum is actually what holds the deodorant and sweat smell in your clothing.

i've only put it on in the morning after a shower, like they say you're not supposed to. it's worked really well though. i would imagine that putting it on at night would do the trick, but i've always forgotten to do it. oh - and the scent i get is the light & fresh or something one, and it smells awesome.

I bet secret is actually made by a man. "Lets throw together as many floral scents as possible. If theres anything women like its flowers and sparkly things"
  • You could also try certain dri.  It's a night time application one that I only use very sparingly once in awhile because it shrinks your armpit pores.

  • I've tried everything, even prescription strength stuff from the derm.

If your a sweater like me, BOTOX is your best friend!
  • I used Certain Dri for the wedding, and use it for other "big" events. Every day I use regular Dove, original scent-no complaints on my end.

  • This was kind of touched on above, but it really does help to put it on at night before bed.  Even if I shower in the morning, I usually don't put more on.  There's some long explaination about how it mimics your body's daily rthym or something.  But for me, putting it on at night helps avoid the stupid sparkly armpits on all my shirts.  And it sitll works!
  • I use the Dove Clinical every other day. I find that I almost don't have to use anything on the off day. I put it on at night. Even if I shower I don't reapply, and it seems to still work great.
Which did you like better? "Jedi" or "The Empire Strikes Back"? "Empire". Blasphemy. "Empire" had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.

This happened to me too! No matter how much I scrubbed, it made my razor weird and felt like a film was on me (well, i suppose it was) that I couldn't get off. This happened with both Degree and Dove clinical strength.

I don't live in TX anymore so I used Degree women...the one for 'black dress wearing' or whatever. Does well enough!
  • I use Mitchum.  I've used all three--Secret, Dove, Degree of the clinical ones and they all worked about the same for me.  I like the Dove the best though because of the smell and that it absorbs fastest.  But after awhile they all just stopped working for me (which is normal with any deoderant for me).  So now I'm using Mitchum and I really like it.
