Snarky Brides

*Any*

I'm watching the news here in KC, and they broke in to talk about the tornado down in Joplin, MO. Everything OK down where you are?

ETA: I'm not sure exactly how close you are to Joplin, but I remember you saying you were near the border. Joplin in quite far from me here, but I'm not sure how close it is to you.

Re: *Any*

  • It's fairly far north; I'd guess at least a couple hours. I'm right on the border with OK, but not MO! It's been a cloudy but other than that, we're good. =D Thanks for asking.

Also, is it uhm, usual to have this many tornadoes? Lol. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little freaked.

<div>Yeah, for this time of year. You get used to them. Just keep in mind that a warning sign of a tornado is a greenish sky. If you don't have one, I'd suggest you make a storm kit, get a weather radio, and know where you would go in case of a tornado. Not trying to scare you, but it's better to be prepared.</div><div>
    </div><div>I'm glad you're ok. I'm horrible with my geography!</div>

<div>Yeah, Brandon's lived in OK his whole life (with the exception of the last year and a bit in AR) so he's briefed me on it a bit. He always calls my cell if he needs me to get the cat in the carrier and into the bathroom (no windows). It's crazy. You wanna know how many tornadoes I've heard of in my area? Two. In like, the last 50 years. And all were dinky little f1-2s that ripped up some shingles and stuff. </div>

<div>I would love to live somewhere like that. I hate tornados, but it's just a fact of life when you live in the midwest. My mom instilled a great fear of tornados in me, and I'm trying to get over it. She goes to the basement as soon as there is a watch. H and I have a smarter outlook on the weather. Just be aware.</div>

Random fact- Minnesota had more tornadoes last year than any other state in the country. Who knew.  We just got hit by one (they're saying F3) in North Minneapolis today.  It destroyed hundreds of houses.  Still freaks me out, any.  You might get used to it, but they're still scary as shiit.
  • We had a tornado last year!  I think.  We don't have sirens or anything, and nobody knew it happened until the weather dude said it did later that day.  haha
