    Yeah....NO!

But my DH will ride anything (thats what she said), he rides the rides and I sit and people watch, I should get a discount.

ETA: He rode that "Top Thrill Dragster" 3 times last time we were there.

  • I freaking LOVE them. Canada's Wonderland is right outside Toronto and the only big place I've been. The last time I was there, it rained for like, 5 minutes, but the entire park cleared out and we got on EVERYTHING. It was so awesome.

  • I get motion sickness so I can do upside down things, fast coasters, spinning things etc.  I do like the ferris wheel/gondola things and the water ones.

  • I like rollercoasters, when I was younger I never liked the the ones that went upside down. I always have a fear of something going wrong and dying on a roller coaster, because I'm a negative nancy like that ;)

The rollercoaster in the link makes me stomach turn, yikes.
  • That is intense. It made me dizzy.

I like roller coasters, but they make me sick. I wish they didn't because I love the thrill of them. We rode Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, and Expedition Everest at Disney and even with the Dramamine I was still nauseous by the end.
  • I love rollercoasters.  I love the Wild Thing and Steel Venom at ValleyFair, and I love this thing at Knotts Berry Farm - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETWOKUWiAA4

I dunno how I feel about the Windseeker.  That thing just looks flat out terrifying.

That just made me throw up in my mouth a little. I'm kind of afraid of heights, that's just too much for me.

I used to love going to Six Flags Great Adventure with my sister. We'd play hooky from school for a day and go (my parents knew and were fine with it, we were good kids) once every year. I loved the Batman ride and the classic Great American Scream Machine. It's been probably 10 years since I went to an amusement park/got on a roller coaster. I'll totally go on them with my nephews when they're old enough though.

  • Holy shiiz. I LOOOVE me some coasters and thrill rides, but I'm not too keen on that one. One of my faves though is Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain.

  • Oh uhm, to actually answer your question, the one you posted looks awesome. I love anything that makes me feel like I'm flying.

Roller coasters scare the crap out of me. I am not a huge ride person in general. I like water/log rides like Splash Mountain (I think that's what it's called) though.
  • If it didn't make me sick I would totally do it. Well, maybe.  I grew up near the boardwalk, and we have that ride where you sit in a cage and are shot up into the sky by bungee-type cords (they show the camera reactions on AFV all the damn time).

Well, one time the cord snapped, and the thing crashed. The people survived, but still. I think the whole time I'd be afraid of the swing snapping off and me plunging to my death.

    Ohhhh hellllllllooo nooooooooo!

I love a good roller coaster but I am deathly afraid of heights and I would piss myself on this one....probably multiple times.

  • I like roller coasters without loops. I HATE the rides that just go up an drop you straight down. The one you posted looks fun. I don't mind heights.
  • I hate them. I'm actually phobic about them.

One time back when Charlie and I were LDR, the Plain White T's were playing at the IL Six Flags on a weekend I was planning on coming out, and since Hey There Delilah is our song (I know - but it's about being apart!), he called and suggested we go. And I cried on the phone. Because I didn't want to go anywhere near a roller coaster. And he said I didn't have to, so I agreed to go. Of course as it got closer, I started to think that maybe I should try going on a roller coaster, because it might not be so bad, and I researched them and picked the tamest one. We went, got on the ride, and I screamed the entire time. Not like the fun screaming, but like the kind you would do if you were actively being killed. I must have ruined the ride for everybody.

When it ended, he helped me out of the car and helped me walk away to a picnic table. He then sat me down, took my hands, looked me in the eye, and said, "You NEVER, EVER, EVER have to go on a roller coaster again. I NEVER want to hear you that scared again."

So yeah, I'm going to be the mom who holds everybody's stuff at the amusement park. And that is A-OK with me.

  • I go on roller coasters, but I've noticed that the older I get, the more I feel my mortality in situations like that.  I haven't been to too many amusement parks--mainly Great Adventure (six flags) here, Holiday World in IN, and the Disney parks.  But N is crazy and will go on anything.

I would never, ever ride that thing.
  • I'm so excited for this ride. When Top Thrill Dragster came out, I rode it front row 3 times. I think we need a knottie g2g at Cedar Point. Kd, we can husband swap for the day LOL Michael is scared of almost every ride.

Have any of you mid-westerners been to Kings Island and rode Delirium? That is one of my all time favorites too.

  • I'm now sorry I looked at the link in the OP. It may give me nightmares.

Charlie went on the Big Shot at the Stratosphere Hotel when we were in Vegas. They asked me if I wanted to go on the outdoor platform to watch him, and I politely declined. Indoors is just fine for me.

Cedar Point gtg would be awesome! I love Cedar Point, but I haven't been in 3 or 4 years. That's the only amusement park I've been to, lame. My favorite ride there is either Maverick or the Millenium. I also really like the indoor one, Disaster Transport.

Sarah#s- The first rollercoaster I rode was the Gemini at CP, and I was like 10 or 11. I screamed bloody murder the entire time and right behind us was the most flamboyant gay man I've ever seen. When we'd get to the top of every hill, he'd say "Oh, it's gonna be ok honey, just hang on!" Best rollercoaster memory ever.

I'd ride it (that's what she said). Well maybe. If it were spinning super fast, I might get motion sick on it. But anyway, I love all the Cedar Point roller coasters. Millennium Force is the best, I could never get sick of it! Watch the official ride POV video if you've never seen it, it's crazy. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/coasters/millennium_force/

The camera on Millennium Force is at the end of the second tunnel and I always try to make a face or wave at it, haha.

I loved Kings Island when I was young. I have so many pictures of me when I was young hanging out there. But I dont ride anything too jerky also for neck issues.

Oh he'd so be up for that considering I dont think I will ever make it home!

  • Whenever I used to drive out to see N, I always went past Kings Island and I want to go.  I  think N has been to Cedar Point, actually, but I forget. I know he said something about it.

I am terrified of all of the Las Vegas rides.  They seem insane.

I love water parks.  I want to go back to Holiday World this year if we make it to IN.

[QUOTE]I enjoy thrill rides that keep me on the ground. I don't enjoy most rides that keep me in the air, and I really dislike that feeling of near-weightless where your stomach is a few feet away from your body. I love things that spin though. On the other hand, my DH can't handle things that spin, and just likes the feeling of going fast. Needless to say, we don't do the big parks like that. We did however have an incredible day at Disneyland last summer on our honeymoon.

  • I just looked at Kings Island website to snag a pic of delirium and it looks like we're getting Wind Seeker too. I guess that makes since now that KI and Cedar Point are owned by the same company.

I don't think I could do that ride, DMiller. That's like the MaxAir thing at CP. I almost pooped myself when I went on it. I seriously thought I was going to die.
  • I've been on that rollercoaster on top that that really tall-ass building in Vegas, but I did refuse to go on that one ride that just dangles you over the strip.

I'd love to go bungee jumping.  That would be badass.

Also, Knots Berry Farm /> Disneyland

  • Okay, I'm totally considering telling H that our belated honeymoon will be to Cedar Park.

Ahh it's one of my favorites, but I love anything that's scary. I bungee jumped in the Wisconsin Dells about 10 years ago, and it was great, but it gave me a terrible headache. So naturally I had to try it again, and same thing. I doubt I'll go for a third jump.
