Snarky Brides

Good Morning?

Is anyone else awake yet?  Dog woke me up at 5, so here I am.  FI usually takes him out in the mornings, so I figured I'd let him sleep in for once.  I can always nap later today, right?  :)

Any fun plans for the day?

Numbers, if you're lurking today- GOOD LUCK!

Re: Good Morning?

  • I'm here.  Taryn woke up at 5:30 and didn't go back to sleep.  Usually, she'll wake up around 4/5 with a wet diaper and go back to sleep until 7/8.  Not today.  Errr.

We're working on our new house today.  Nothing too exciting.

  • Good morning Steph and all you other lovely biitches!

I just got back from grocery shopping. I like to go on Saturday mornings before the sun comes up because I can get in and out fast.

I have to have blood drawn at 9:15 and then I'm going to buy a cute pair of boots that I saw last week.

I also might bake some cookies today, and of course veg out and watch all of the shows I DVR'd this week

  • Tide - what kind of house stuff are you working on? I love house decorating and renovations.

  • morning ladies!

I am up doing homework (yea seriously this sucks). I am going to H's aunt's baby shower a little later. I had a baby shower last weekend. And H's cousin gave birth two days ago. I am SURROUNDED. It makes me get all woo-woo-y inside :-P

lurking shmirking...I have time to post!

I just woke up.  I am getting married today and that's all that matters really.

    CN from yesterday
    - got into argument with father and step mom regarding something I had done that was rude (but unintentional) the night before). Was ugly, there were tears, I was a mess. Hugged it out three hours later (not all resolved but good enough I think).
    - had an awesome RD, people loved it, was on a high until 5 minutes before bed when...
    - brother called, still in transit to here, saying he had lost his wallet somewhere (gas station, dinner stop, etc). I went to bed, there was nothing I could do.
    - was awoken at just past 3am by my father who said that my brother was in Niagara Falls. I am not getting married in Niagara Falls. He had missed a split in the highways and had driven an extra hour away from where he should. Oh, and seeing as how he had no wallet, he had no money to buy gas and was all out. So I had to get him to a Tim Horton's and then explain to my father how to drive out there so he could give him some money and have him follow him here.

I have no idea how the last problem worked out other than my dad's car is in the driveway so I imagine that they both got here at some point. I think I heard a door at around 6:30 so that might have been them.

I have to go shower so that my hair is dry when hair and make-up arrives at 9:15. I am just praying that there won't be any major hiccups today.

Hope you ladies all have a great day!
  • NUMBERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

You are getting married today! Have a WONDERFUL DAY! I am so sorry you dealt with that crap all night. That's just not fair. But screw it- it sounds like everyone is where they should be and in the end all that should matter is you and your soon to be H. Everything else will fade away as soon as you see him I promise!

    Bring back pics!

Star- just pop out a kid now. That will solve your problems, right?
  • yeah I second that- whatcha doing tide. How are you feeling?

Steph- muahaha if only. After thinking about this nonstop all month I think I have come to terms with the fact that we need to wait. It's ok.. on the upside I can shower these new babies in my life with adoration :)

  • Happy wedding day Number!

  • Numbers, your brother is a hot mess!  At least your dad got to deal with him, and not you!

Steph and Jen - we're hoping to move into another house in a couple of weeks.  My mom owns it, but it needs some work still.  We (stepdad and DH) are moving the furnace under the house to make room in the kitchen, and then they are moving some plumbing around.  Those are the two big things that need to be done.  After that, maybe next weekend, we'll install the kitchen, put in new closets, install bathroom stuff, fix a hole in the ceiling, and finish painting.

I hate this stuff, but it needs to be done, so...

  • Star - I'm feeling absolutely fine.  I've had no pregnancy symptoms at all, and I am not complaining.  That goodness that I took notice of the dates of my last period, or I may have ended up on "I didn't know I was pregnant."

I'm a little jealous. I love fixing up a new place.

I've been house hunting for a while now and I think I've finally found THE ONE. I already have the renovations planned out and we haven;t even made an offer yet. Lame, I know.

    Thank you :)

Just think about how much of a surprise that would be if I didn't, though.  Not only were you pregnant, here's 2 babies!

  • Morning all! I'm up to head over to the ice rink and watch FI in his weekly time trial. Not a big race or anything, but he likes having me there for the support, and I like watching him walking around in his skinsuit. I also had kind of a meltdown yesterday because I am having trouble adjusting to living here and being by myself all the time while he works and missing my friends, so we're trying to be a little nicer to each other today.

I think I found our photographer last night. She's ridiculously talented, really inexpensive, and intimately familiar with the setting for our wedding. I sent her an email last night, and I'm crossing my fingers that she'll be available.

Best wishes to you on your wedding, Numbers! All of these crazy things will be funny stories to tell someday.

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • Numbers, I think there is a natural law out there that prevents many wedding-eves from going smoothly. I had several hiccups that day myself :)

    Have a great day.
  • Good luck Numbers!!  And good morning to everyone else!

I'm enjoying my weekend to myself.  DH is out checking deer stands, so he's gone till tomorrow, and I'm so looking forward to having the house to myself (married less than a month, I'm a horrible wife!  lol).  I'm gonna disassemble the kitchen, clean it, reorganize it, then put it all back together, then with the extra room I hopefully will have created, buy more stuff that I've been wanting to buy but waited till after the wedding.  Watch some netflix stuff, drink some wine, make some food, go through our Hawaii pictures and start making a photobook.  I'm going to love it!
  • Congrats Numbers! Have an awesome day and post a ton of pics when you get the chance =)

I'm working today. Nothing more, nothing less.
  • Good luck, numbers! Sorry about the pre-wedding stress but today will be awesome. I know it.

We had a great time at Tosh and I now love him even more. He is freakin hilarious. The downside is I was reminded all over again why I never go out in public--I hate people. So next time, Tosh needs to come entertain H and I at our home.

I'm feeling unusually bitchy today, so I will work out my irritations by cleaning. And watching TV.

Why does this sound like the perfect day to me? DH is leaving tomorrow for 3 days so I was thinking this would be my Sunday, since he wants to paint and reorganize the garage. I want to scrub the bathroom so I can take a nice bubble bath.

Good morning ladies. Tide I feel you with the renovations. But I try to think of how it will be when you're done.

  • Good morning!

    Congratulations, Numbers!

I'm going to have lunch with my parents in a little bit, but other than that, I'm just lounging around the apartment all day.  FI is at work until 7, so hopefully we can go out and do something tonight.  Until then...I'm going to be lazy.  I should work on some lesson plans, but that will probably end up being put off until tomorrow.

Tide--that kind of happened to my best friend's parents.  They though they were having one baby, and it was due in May.  They found out on March 16 that they were having twins, and they wound up coming early on March 23.  Crazy.
  • Good Morning Ladies!

It's going to be a fabulous fall day here in the good ol' U S of A.

What am I doing today?  Well, since you asked:

*I'm going to Barnes & Noble and not leaving until I have found the perfect new book to read on blustery nights.

*It's rugby tournament day for my brother and I'm driving to his university too cheer him on, play medic, and eat an absolutely heavenly gyro pizza at the pizzeria in his school's town.

*and most importantly, we're going to Menard's because they have their Christmas Village set up!  I'm going shopping for Holiday decorations!!!!!!!!  I'm SO excited.  Only

  • I'm so jealous, Anna. I want to go decoration shopping. I just bought my grandparents' gift yesterday, so that leaves about 9 people left.

I want to find something fun for the yard since my pretty little metal tree with light has officially reached it's life expectancy.

I bought my sister's present the other day and she is gonna bawl like a baby when she opens it.  She was a teen mom and  now regrets that she caused my niece to "miss out" on some things like the "Baby's first Christmas" ornament.   I found the silver hallmark ornament from my niece's birthyear and am having her name engraved on it.

    AW!  you're so sweet.
  • Aw, that's so sweet. I'm doing a calendar for my dad of this past year since it was a big one--I got married, his brother got married, my brother graduated high school and left for college. I made one before for him with our baby and kid pictures, so this is like a follow up of us all grown up. He cried with the first one.

I'm also enlarging a pic of me dancing with my stepdad at the wedding and framing it. He's really hard to buy for, so this year I"m going sentimental.
