Snarky Brides

Hi Everyone

Hi everyone, I usually post once in a while but wanted to introduce myself and say Hi. As I get closer to my wedding* I tend to be posting on the boards more to give some relief to my wedding anxiety. I guess ask me anything?

Re: Hi Everyone

  • Hi!

What's all gone wrong with the wedding planning?

Why the hell do you have a dress on your cat?

What's your favorite vendor so far?
  • Tell me what has gone wrong with your wedding planning to date.

Also tell me wth your cat is wearing a dress!

  • I guess the dress on the cat shouldn't disturb me since I dress my dogs up.....but it does.
  • My other questions:

If you had to pick between getting a hot stone massage, regular full-body massage or a full body scrub and massage, which would you choose and why?

  • Also, why does your s/n include the word 'formerly'?

And what is your cat's name?

  • I want to know what happened to the original "meowmeow".

  • Also, any particular reason you are getting married on a Tuesday? Your date happens to also be my little sister's 21st bday, and only 3 days after my wedding.

First problem we had was the church taking a year to tell us no we couldn't get married (we are/or were Catholic). So then we planned a Las Vegas wedding. My fiancée broke his wrist the day we were supposed to have engagement pictures and is in a cast. The next day we found out my dad has cancer after taking him to the emergency room for the flu that wouldn't go away. He has surgery this week, but don't know how well he will be to be able to travel. And it would be hard to cancel the wedding because everyone bought there plane tickets, etc. So I have a dilemma now and playing it by ear.

The cat wearing the dress is a joke! I got it for $2 on clearance when at the pet store I think its really for dogs. I thought it looked hilarious so I took a picture of it. She only wore it for 3 minutes. She's not much of a fashionista.

My favorite vendor so far has been the Bellagio. That's where we are getting married and they have been so easy to work with.

I never had a massage before. Maybe a hot stone, because I am always cold.
  • Aww I love cat wearing a dress.

  • She looks so adorable in the dress, but at the same time very "You have exactly 10 seconds to remove this before I claw your eyes out." I tried to put Demon in a harness once. She just flopped onto the floor and laid there like "Mom, you killed me, I hope you're happy."

I'm sorry to hear about all that's going on :( Hopefully he'll have a quick recovery and can be there. Is there a way you could set up a webcame or skype the ceremony to him as a worst case scenario?

My original screen name was **meow**meow**. After trying to put pictures or anything else in my sig I had to change my screen name. Because if your screen name has any symbols such as *, $, etc. it will give you errors if you try to put something in your signature. Why? I don't know?
  • Haha, the cat in a dress made me LOL. Welcome

Since it's a Las Vegas wedding we are getting married on a Tuesday because everyone will be taking vacation time regardless if we had it on a Saturday. It will be 3 years from our first blind date. We were set up by one of my co-workers.
  • I bought a small dog size Snuggie for my cat, but he won't wear it. Actually I think it's probably *too* small for him - he probably needs a medium. He's a big cat. Yell

  • Sun, I vote hot stone. My mom is taking classes with hot stone massage and I'm her very willing guinea pig. It feels soooo nice. She also bought a heated massage pad a few months ago that makes me feel like I'm in heaven. She also gives "cat massage" where the cat will jump up on the table and lay on you she gives you your massage. I love Ewok massages.

haha! Sadly, no Ewok massage is listed on the available massage options for the salon! I guess I will have to settle for hot stone. I've never had a hot stone massage before but it does sound nice... and it's cold today, so I would be happy to be warmed with hot stones!

Next question, OP: If you were having a hot stone massage, would you go before or after shopping? haha

I have tried the harness also. I tried letting her outdoors a couple times but she almost got hit by a car a couple times. So I thought the harness would keep her safe going outdoors but that was no dice. I also have a 150lb St. Bernard, that came with the boyfriend.

We are getting married on a terrace so that can't be live. I do have the option to change the ceremony to one of the indoor chapels and the ceremony would be able to be acessed on the web the next day.
Your cat is really cute. My cat only wears a bow tie for company, it's a great conversation starter btw. Are you doing a reception after the wedding or are you going out to dinner on the town? Is your bach party there and if so are you going to see thunder down under? I hear those guys know how to put on a show.
    Posted by RMacQueen
We are having a dinner for everyone at Maggiano's in Las Vegas after the wedding. I never had dinner there before, I am going off reviews. The Las Vegas board has been great. I never would of been able to plan this wedding without there help and past reviews. I am also.......(waiting to get flammed) having a celebration at home too, to celebrate with people who are not able to make it.

I don't think I am going to have a bach party I might get to out of control. LOL
  • *grabs the flamethrower*

Nah, I think it's fine to have an AHR for people who couldn't make it. It's just really frowned down upon when it's for people who are invited to the wedding to begin with.

  • What sort of AHR are you having?

and sadness- I called to book the massage but they are all booked out... I could only be fit in to get my eyebrows done- which is better than nothing, but still no fun! Oh well. I guess I will save the massage for when we get back from the holiday (or, umm, while on the holiday? That could make sense!) instead.

  • Boo Sun. I need to call to get a haircut one of these days. I should probably get on that.

    Food, Booze, and D.J.
  • I love dress kitty. She looks quite content to me. I've been trying to get a picture of Whisky in a USF hat so I can make a Bulls Kitty pic but he hasn't been cooperating lately. But I do have my own Box Kitty pic I am putting on FB once I scan it.
  • Here is the dress I am not really in love with it. But this is a crappy pic taken from iphone, its Maggie Sottero - Dominique. I think once its get's steamed I will like it more. The at home celebration is at banquet hall.

  • The picture is really little, but it looks pretty and seems to fit you perfectly!
