Re: Where is everyone?

  • Thanks, Blue! His cuteness definitely helps him in the mornings, when he is ornery as hell.

Also, some woman related to my friend started tagging random people on my pictures a few years ago. I thought I had my FB locked down at the time and it apparently wasn't. I was like wtf?!

Sarah- Is his hair red, or does it just look like that in the picture because of the sunlight?

  • SEWF- His hair has reddish tints (mine did too as a baby), but it is mostly brown. TThe wind was blowing, though, and I think the sunlight through it just makes it look red. And his face is red because he had just fallen forward. Total face plant into the bluebonnets. It was a pretty steep hill and I didn't think about that possibility. I'm just glad he didn't roll.

  • Sparky is adorable, holy crap.

Guys, question. My hands are already getting swollen. Between the summer and the whole pregnancy thing, I'm going to get a fake ring for the summer. (My can't really be resized.)  If it were you, would you try to find one similar to your real ring? or go all out and get whatever you wanted to wear for a few months? I'm putzing around on amazon and overstock and there are a TON of CZ rings for under $40.

thats a great pic sarah, I love everything about it.
  • Steph, I'd get a cool cheap CZ ring and rock it until the baby arrives.

  • Steph, I'd probably just pick something pretty and not worry about matching too much.  Though chances are if you had a hand in picking your e-ring, that means you like it and may gravitate towards similar styles anyway.  I probably would, anyway.

  • Thanks, Nebb!

Steph, I'd just get whatever I wanted. I had a similar issue, but I didn't get a fake ring. I just put my rings on a chain, like a pendant. I wore them like that for months. But I'm not an accessory person and I normally wear the same necklace every day until it breaks or turns me colors and then I switch, so it didn't interfere with my fashion choices at all.

  • Hello ladies.  I worked in the yard all day. and now I'm undoing any excerise I got by eating chips and salsa for dinner.
  • I'm self conscious and I'd feel weird with a huge pregnant belly without a wedding ring. Lame, but whatever.
  • I get it. That's why I wore them around my neck. Its a common thing. And people know your fingers swell.

I had to go to a conference for work in STL and was cleaning my rings the morning before I left. I accidently left them at home. its a good thing everyone knew I was married (finance user group meeting, same people every year), but I spent 2 days having meetings with church people, visibly pregnant with no rings. It was awkward.

  • I was looking at the ring contest that KJ posted on E, and someone has this gorgeous peacock inspired ring instead of a diamond.  I thought it was really cool.

  • Do people really expect a woman to be married if she is pregnant?  I don't think most people wait until marriage anymore, nor do I think it's really even expected.  (I ask for the sake of conversation.)

  • I dunno Jas. But to be honest, I'd proably judge someone, whether or not that's fair. It's just a gut reaction, I guess.

But, I also look younger, so maybe that's part of my self-consciousness.

That's kind of crazy to me. Maybe because I know a lot of people who have kids and aren't married? I mean, it's a nice idea, but there are plenty of women who make the choice to have a child alone.

<div>That's nice. But it's still something that I would feel uncomfortable with, thus my question. </div><div>
</div><div>ETA: I mean, if we really want to get into this debate we can. But all I really wanted to know was whether I should go for a ring like my real one or go all out gaudy and tacky.</div>

Not trying to debate; I don't think there's a right or wrong. I'd just never thought about it before.

Well, I'm pretty awful with the  whole Catholocism thing, what with all the sinning and such.
And honestly, I've never wondered if a pregnant woman was married. But like I said, it might just be because of the number of single moms I know.
