Texas-Dallas and Ft. Worth

Belated Intro and Invitations Question!

Hi all!

So I have posted on here from time to time and lurked to see all of your wonderful advice to each other, but I never actually wrote an intro post. I am getting married on March 5, have been engaged since last June, and have almost all of my major vendors booked, including:

Ceremony: Holy Trinity
Reception: Ritz-Carlton
Floral: Bella Flora
Photography: Perez
Band: Walton Stout
Planners (day-of coordination only): DFW Events

We are having a pink (mainly blush and coral) and white wedding with kind of a modern-vintage inspiration. I am now entering the exciting (but scary) "detail" phase of wedding planning. I finish grad school in Dec and am going to wait to start work until April so that I can 1. have time to find a job in the first place 2. spend 2 months doing DIY projects and 3. not take all of my vacation days for the wedding/honeymoon.

This weekend I will be in Dallas (I am living 3.5 hrs away- not fun when planning your Dallas wedding!), and my weekly wedding task is to find invitations. I can be really picky about it, so I kind of want to go with someone who can do a custom design of the whole suite (invites, reply, menus, programs, etc.) for not much more than you would pay for normal invites. I have no idea how much custom designs cost so that might be a totally absurd statement. Does anybody have any recs? My style is vintage-y, if that helps.

Thanks!!

I just bought some invitations for my parents' anniversary at Papyrus in Southlake (there's one in North Park) for $375.  It included an invitation, menu card, RSVP card, RSVP envelope, inner envelope and mailing envelope.  I got them in a cream color in block with a little bit of scroll lettering.  I would start there.  You could also try the other paper store at North Park, Paper Source.  Magic Pen and Party in Downtown Grapevine might be another option.  Good luck and welcome to the board.

Welcome to the board!  We went with Works of a Wink @ www.worksofawink.com

Her name is Erica Wink and she is pretty awesome, with great pricing and can custom design all of the paper details.  We still get compliments on our invitations.  :)

I loved working with her so much that I think she is my "paper" girl for life.  We just ordered a custome embosser and monogram address stamp from her today.

    Good luck!

I used Etsy.  I had a very specific look that I wanted and could find nowhere else and I didn't want to do them myself.  Etsy is a very affordable way to custom design an invitation suite.  I spent around $500 for:  the invitation, envelopes with the return address printed, RSVP card with printed envelopes, and an extra accommodations card.

I then used Etsy for my escort cards and table numbers, continung the theme I used for my invitations, although I used a different seller.  You could easily fnd a seller to do it all.  PIB of everything.  I also used Etsy for my candy box stickers and envelope seals for my invitations, using the same design.

Oh and welcome--your wedding sounds fabulous already! My boss is getting married in 2 weeks and they are using Bella Flora and their colors are black and blush pink.  Her flowers are going ot be fabulous so I'll take lots of pictures!

There's a shop in the the Shops of Legacy called Socially Write.  I know they do wedding invitations.  I've been in there a few times and they are really friendly and helpful.

I also used Etsy.  I opted for Etsy Alchemy.  It's where I put in what I wanted, and I had sellers bid for the business... I would defitinely recommend it!

Your wedding sounds lovely!  I used PAper Source (Northpark, Julie mentioned above) for all my invitations, programs, etc.  To save some money, we put everything together, but they can do many different custome things for you.

We got married at Holy Trinity too!  Suzi, the wedding coordinator, is way over the top type A (to the point she sent my Godfather to pergatory for making a joke during the rehearsal), but everything will run on schedule because of her.  I was happy and confident with her running things.

Wow, thanks for all of the tips! You guys are so helpful!

TOTALLY in love with "By Invitation Only"s work... I sent a message to ask about custom designs, hopefully she gets back to me soon! :)

    Thank you all!
