Gunslinger is a pretty fast read, so that wont take you long... its the OTHER books that will.

I am jealous. I seriously loved this series, although I kind of raged at the end.

I love that he does cameos.  He's so bizarre looking, he always fits right in.

One of my fav books ever is his memoir On Writing. Have you read it?

I haven't finished the series, but it looks like I'm gonna have to try to pick it back up.

I have concerns that a tv show or movie won't be nearly as good as what I've read so far tho.

RAYNES!! havw you been living under a rock! They announced that they are going to produce the dark tower. It is going to alternate between movies and tv (so one will be a movie, the next a tv series, the following a movie, so on and so forth).

im a little anal retentive when it comes to my books, and i want to own the whole dt series, and i want them to match. i cant find song of susanna anywhere, so im currently at a standstill until i just buck up and order it on amazon. what are your reviews on song of susanna?

I really liked it, I feel like the whole journey REALLY starts coming together in that book, because its almost the end, you know? Everything ramps up and becomes very thick on plot and reference. I loved it. The last  3 books in the series dont match the other 4 which annoys me because theyre an inch taller than the others.

I think the series will be good--usually, whenever he's on board, the version is awesome. 

Although, Nebb, I know you thought The Shining book was way better than Kubrick's version and I loved the film.  I think the visuals helped a lot.  It's still one of my favorite movies to this day.

I stopped because I started grad school and all my pleasure reading time went out the window. I had almost forgotten about this series! Must finish!

See I am a very imaginative person so I can just imagine it - I liked the more extreme supernatural things that happened in the book as opposed to the movie. I love the movie, but I love the book WAY more.

Me, too.  I think what influences me is that I saw the movie before I ever read the book.  And I've seen it a thousand times.  With everything else (except Pet Semetary) I read the book first, so I was able to visualize freely.  That's why I usually hate movei versions--they never live up to what I've pictured myself.

But I'm getting excited to finally begin DT!
