Do you do holiday baking? If so, who do you give the goodies to? Any special display you do?

Any amazing recipes you can share?

I'm trying to figure out some new recipes for some plates to do for a few of my employees at work, my daughters teacher, etc.

I make THIS every year, and it's very popular. I usually sprinkle a little sea salt on top.

Swag - Those look delish and super easy. I had seen something similar on Pinterest but didn't look much into them. Glad to know they're good.

I've inherited the responsibility of making my grandma's super secret dessert recipe. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, she lived in a time that was not quite as dirty minded, and named this special dessert Eskimo Balls. There are few things greater than asking your mom, "want me to bring you some eskimo balls?" Or telling a no-bake cookie pushing coworker, "No thanks, I just had some eskimo balls."

This is my favorite baked good, but I sometimes use chocolate frosting. The peanut butter can be a bit extreme.

Yep, I bake every year. I always bake my Sweet Dream cookies. I got the recipe from a B&B we used to stay in in Calistoga. The owner would put them on your bed in the evening. She is no longer running it,sad.

Anyway, they are tedious, but so worth it. This year I'm also adding peanut butter with chocolate kisses, and chocolate covered pretzal rods.

I give them to my sister and her kids and their kids!

I usually make cut out cookies.  I want to do a holiday baking smorgasboard, but I'm not sure if I will this year or not.  I'm hoping my mom will bring me a variety when they come out soon.

I bake every year, usually chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips, pumpkin bread with chocolate chips, apple or pear tarts, and a crepe cake with hazelnut mousse filling.  I find pretty much all my recipes on allrecipes.com.  I also make chocolate truffles and roll them in powder made from freeze dried fruit.

The hazelnut cake always goes to my aunt, I always give truffles and pumpkin bread to people I kind of want to impress (bosses, FI's mom, older relatives that don't see me as an adult yet).  Cookies and tarts get distributed to everyone I think of.  I make the loaves in tin loaf pans then wrap them in cellophane, the cookies go in cute christmas-y bags, the tarts go on plates and wrapped up, the truffles go in boxes I get from my local restaurant supply store.  Everything gets ribbons.  And bows.  And sometimes fake sprigs of holly or poinsettia flowers.

I always used to do a ton of Christmas baking, but I've cut down a lot now that I'm GF cause I have to cook almost all of my own food for dinners and any desserts I want. I really miss making truffles, they were so yummy but quite a bit of work. Martha Stewart's recipe was my stand-by. I always do snickerdoodles still, since they are FI's favorite. :-)

Wow, I'm definitely going to have to look up some of these recipes. They sound good.

I'm debating what to make (hence, asking the questions). I usually try to make 3 or 4 different things. Thanks for the ideas!

Last year I decided I should be housewifey and impress the than BF, now FH and I made 2 kinds of fudge(mint chocolate and orange dreamsicle) and chocolate covered peanut butter balls. I also made homemade hot chocolate and we gave our families the fudge, PB balls and hot chocolate as presents. This year I'm making 4 kinds of fudge, I think we decided on egg nog, cake batter, s'more and mint chocolate, PB balls, and chocolate cover preztel rods and Oreos and I'm making snickerdoodles at my dad's request.

I don't have any "go to receipes" since I usually google what I want, find a receipe I think sounds good and go from there. The local Sam's Club will love me this weekend we go do our shopping for supplies.

I made Turtle Thumbprints this week and Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows (both Regular Marshmallows with peppermint pieces and Strawberry Marshmallows with sprinkles.). Brought it all into work and had no leftovers

The thumbprints were super easy --- I strongly suggest them!

I put the mashmallows on those stir sticks so people can stir the whole thing in their coffee instead of sugar....this is the second year I did that for my co-workers and they enjoy it! You know office people and their coffee haha

One my favorite cookies are Buckeyes. They're more like candy than cookies, but it doesn't matter, they're delicious!

Angel, I might attempt some GF baking and send some to my aunt as part of her Christmas gift. I've been told I shouldn't use my KitchenAid stand mixer because of a higher chance of ingredient contamination, but that my hand mixer would be okay. I have GF All Purpose flour for when I used some at Thanksgiving and GF oats. Do you happen to have any GF oatmeal cookie recipes you could recommend? 

My other idea was to make homemade granola with the GF oats.

So far this year I've made about 10 dozen cookies. Chocolate chip w/ red & green chips, peanut butter kiss cookies, and sugar cookies with super simple glaze/frosting.

Do you do holiday baking? I am a huge baker (I bake at least once a week) - but I bake a lot at Christmas time.

If so, who do you give the goodies to? Everyone! Some as gifts, and I bring cookies/cupcakes/cake to every party and family gathering.

Any special display you do? Not really. Unless it's cupcakes, then I will do a cupcake tower. You can get them at Wal-Mart or craft stores.
