Come out, Come out where ever you are!

You know other people can start a morning thread!

And stop with the Snarky crap people, it's really stupid.

How is everyone today, any body gearing up for a long weekend?

  • Good Morning.

Not much going on over here. It's semi quiet in the office today but so much for me to do.
I'm getting too distracted with replying to threads on here though.

Long weekend I will spend planning wedding things and relaxing at the cottage.

I saw a girl eating a burger at 6:30am (which at the time I thought was weird) this morning and now I'm craving a burger. bah.

    Good morning!

I am feeling sluggish today. The only thing keeping me going is the thought of this long weekend coming up. I've been checking my company's intranet constantly with the hopes that they'll give us a half day tomorrow. No such luck, yet.

I am so incredibly addicted to 'Dice with Buddies'. I suck at it, I lose way more than I win, but I can't stop playing. It's like Yahtzee. Anyone else play?

  • Morning!  Today is my Friday, and I intend to have a fabulous day because of it.  We're going to the beach this weekend and I can't wait!

  • Morning.  I'm running through quick before I leave for work.  I can't wait for a 3 day weekend, although I have zero plans.  A friend invited me over for the Michigan game on Saturday, so I may do that just to be social.  .  I have to call her back this afternoon and get the details.

    Good Morning!

I'm staying in today but I have gobs of homework to get started on.  So...  I'll probably spend the rest of the morning watching tv and doing much more fun chores  ;)

Ya...for me too. I'm trying to cut as much booze out since I'm on a diet. Trying to loose some weight. I'm fearing the long weekend cause I'm usually surounded by junk food and booze.
It's gonna take some mighty will power. lol

    Smartass!

Leave it to the MOD to start trouble.

Tomorrow is an early day, but I voluteer to close (kinda have to since no one else is here), but I get my 3 hours elsewhere. So tomorrow it will be just me and my boss in the office, should be pretty boring.

I'm so looking forward to sleeping in the next few days.

  • Good morning!

Stupid a-hole in the parking garage invoked the wrath of Les this morning.  I'm well within the lines of my parking space (and I drive a Prius, FFS, so I don't take up much room).  DumbassBitch gets on my case about 'banging into her car' with my door.  Um, you're at least a foot into my parking space, and I can't get out of my car without my door touching your car.  SHUTUP.  I have ZERO patience for the likes of you this morning.  I told her to move her damn car if she can't fit between the lines and getfuckkked.  Argh.

Anyway, how are all of you this lovely morning?? 8-)

<div>Please oh please oh pleeeeaaase tell me you really said this out loud to her!  People like that seriously suck.  If they aren't around when I get to my car (like after work or something), I've taken to writing notes that say "Learn how to park, asshole," and leaving them on their car.  Maybe that makes me a biiiitch but I'm so over it.</div>

  • It IS morning, but it ain't so good!

Finally got to see the principal this morning. School starts next week, and I wanted to find out what I'm going to be teaching. I signed my contract for SH English/Other and was told in June that it would likely be basic English, Enterprise and Nutrition. I get there today and find out that it's full time grade eight IRT.

I'm seriously pissed. One of the reasons I didn't reapply for the position I had last year was that I wanted to 'teach' English and have less down time. Now I feel like I should've stayed where I was...

Me too, especially when people take it so literally.

Atticus is just fine. He just doesnt understand why we wont play with him. He goes to Camp Bow Wow this weekend, and he'll be all healed, so I'm sure he'll have fun.

    <div>Did he have "the surgery"?</div><div>
</div><div>H had appendicitis last Monday.  Generally that wouldn't be a huge deal for most people but because of his CF is was giant clusterfuvck of bullshiiiit.  He went to the hospital where he works (and hour south of where we live) at 9am on that Monday.  But they weren't comfortable doing the surgery (and I called his doctor and his doctor told me to tell them not to touch him), so they had to send him up here in an ambulance because they wouldn't let him drive.  He didn't have the surgery until almost 1am Tuesday morning because of traumas that kept coming in, and didn't get back to his room and into recovery until 4am.  </div><div>

  • Exactly. Add to this the fact that I've spent all summer thinking up things to do with basic English - the curriculum is vague and there are no textbooks, so I've been going through my files and pulling activities, coming up with a plan to organize the whole year etc... Then to get there and find out it was for nothing. Someone else will do that job.

As of now I'm going to be doing IRT. Meaning I'll be the 'second' teacher offering support in the classroom to the regular teacher. No lesson plans for me, no class of my own ... oh! But I do get to teach a class on study skills/organization to a group of junior high kids.

I'm not trained as an IRT. Because our province has changed to inclusive education, they've instituted IRTs as a way to keep all students in the same classroom. Basically, they've gotten rid of 'special ed' and mainstreamed all kids. I agree in principle, but the reality is much different. Not enough resources.

But I'm seriously pissed. I spent all summer thinking I was going to FINALLY get my own class, get to teach my own lessons, and hell, even do my own grading. I was one of those sickkos who thought having a stack of badly written essays on the desk was going to be heaven. This was the main reason that I didn't persue working at the college again this year. I wanted a busier schedule.

Maybe I can hold on to the hope that they'll change it all again, and when I get there Tuesday morning I'll find out that I DO get a class of my own??? Very unlikely.

Atticus was fixed Monday morning. You wouldnt know it by the way he acts, but he did have a bit of diarea and he got sick in his crate. Within minutes he was bring you his toy and wondering why you wont throw it. He should be fine by Saturday, they just wanted him to stay calm for a few days, Yeah Right!

  • If you can't park it, don't drive it.  I've left that message on a windsheild or two.

Shay, I'm glad your H is recovering at home.  Poory guy - that sounded like not a lot of fun.

We still have no idea what we're doing this weekend.  My H is insane and wants to take my 2 teenage nieces and our dogs to San Diego which is all fine and good except it will likely be for only 1 night because of oldest niece's work schedule (which she still doesn't know).  12 hours (out of ~36) in a car with 2 big dogs and 2 moody teenagers is not exactly my idea of fun.  In fact, I'd rather go be Blue for the weekend and hang out at the pool.

  • Hey Snarks!

Feeling extra snarky today?  I feel fresh with a side of snark mixed with snarklerark.

I saw that post this am, and it took everything in me to restrain myself from saying something.  There was a fire outside of my work building.  I was at another building and heard the commotion and then when I was returning to my building realized the road was blocked off.  Luckily pedestrians could get through.  From the floor of my building I could look down and see exactly where the fire was.

Side note:  This morning was the perfect opportunity for single ladies to pick up some hot fireman.  The place was swarming with at least 20+
  • Shay, I'm glad your H is better.

Les, I would have loved to see that encounter.

My day is boring. I've had to shadow some new CWs and they are so slow. And no one does what I tell them to do. I'm startign to like teaching more and more. They have to listen to me.

  • Thanks, ladies.

kd, Sebastian was like that when we had him fixed.  When the tech carried him to me after it was done he was all hyped up, tail wagging, ready to play.  We had a hard time keeping him from jumping.  Our bed at the time was about four and a half feet high and he'd jump up and down before we could stop him.  Little devil.

Sesh, shouldn't they have to shadow you first? Watch you do things rather than you telling them what to do?
