LOL - well chocolates and snow plow service work, I guess. Sad that you can't even get her a Starbucks gift card.

That would make me crazy. We have a hard enough time shopping for FI's mom and dad/stepmom, but gift cards generally make them all pretty happy. We're doing Starbucks and Melting Pot.

Ohh what about the grocery store? Not really a fun gift, but it could be practical...

Love it! Lucy, my dog just plops herself on my lap so I can't continue what I'm doing. This to include laying on the laptop, magazine, whatever it is I'm doing.

Oh and random thing - does anyone around here do the freezer meals? I'm contemplating trying this, FSIL does it and swears it saves so much time during the week. I'm starting back at the gym and already don't get home in the evenings until 6:30-7 depending on traffic, so I think the freezer stuff would work well....

So does mine, expect he's 40 lbs- I do freezer meals, especially casseroles, it works great!

I'm going to give it a go this weekend. Thus, lots of planning for it today before I go grocery shopping.
She does everything, from casseroles to pre-making burger patties or taco meat, soup, garlic bread..her list is long!

I'm going to need a longer weekend though - doing this freezer meal stuff (I hope to do enough meals for 2 weeks at once), holiday baking, decorating and homework...boatloads of homework.

Good idea, Edie. She has sent me a bunch. She said it's actually easier to do each meal for two meals (double them up) so it's less cooking. I have a feeling I'm going to end up stuck in the kitchen for hours, but if I plan it all out well enough, it should be OK.

Brittney - I saw that alert come through my phone on CNN. People are crazy these days, it's horrible.

There was also recently that shooting at the OR mall...sad.
