So glad it's Friday. I'm ready for the weekend. Then a 3-day week next week too! woohoo! I think I'm getting a new desktop at work today, and they're finally getting me my laptop, so I'll spend all day screwing around with the settings so everything looks back to normal. What's everyone up to this weekend??

Good morning! TGIF indeed, this week has felt super friggin' long.

I slept so hard last night, and had very vivid dreams. I think that's because I went to bed at 8:30pm.

Not much going on here, just working all day and relaxing tonight. Tomorrow I'm meeting up for drinks with some friends I haven't seen in a while, so that should be fun.

Good morning. I have one of my favorite patients coming in for a  study today. This study goes on for many years and one of the things I like about my job is getting to see these kids grow up. This will be my fourth year seeing this person. 

This weekend I'm doing some WR errands and then our farmer's market opens Sunday! We may go over there with some friends and then hang out with them cooking and watching movies all day. I'm not sure if they'll be willing to go as early as us though, it gets crowded fast so we try to go as close to 7am as possible.

Something Borrowed was pretty bad. I also hated the depressing, soul-crushing movie that was One Day.

Last night H and I started watching Spartacus. We like it so far. Tonight will be a continuation of the show while I grade papers and edit. I have so much to do. Thank god this long-ass week is almost over with.

And, my book giveaway on Goodreads altready has like 70 people signed up. I want to be one of the ones with like 600 people or more by the end of it.

I would like to say today is going to be a good day but I know its not going to be. I get the tasks of transfering all of our customer information onto an external for the company we sold our clients to, I have TONS of files I will have to go through to find the exact things because they have never been in the same place (it was too much work to bother so I just learned to find it in different places). It has to be done today. Then I heard dickkhead sales guy talking about how he is trying to push through as many orders as he can, I got 11 piecemeal orders yesterday that totally wasted my ENTIRE day, so I know I am going to end up juggling both plus whatever other normal tasks I may have. I want to punch him in the fucking balls when he leaves. Yesterday he showed me a list of orders he had been working on that we might end up still going forward with and he told me I could find all the money/art/other information in his files - so I said "no, what I need is for you to put any pertinent information for me in one specific place so I can put it on my computer and not have to search for it". He didnt want to because it would take too long to search for all the files, like it wouldnt take me even longer?! He is the worst person in fucking existance to ever work with. Ever.

Well it runs for a month, so you have plenty of time!

There's a lot of sex in Spartacus. We've only watched the first episode, but damn. Not that I mind, but a couple parts H and I were like, "Dude, they should just go ahead and have sex on camera. They practically are anyway" because they just seemed so...real.

It won't let up, either. It's basically soft-core porn with fancy lighting and elaborate costumes. There's one scene toward the end of the first season that has stuck with me ever since, and wowza, it was hot.

Today is safety inspection day.  Thank goodness everyone has there "don't eat uknown substances in the lab" quizzes done.  I love being in charge of this ... especially when I have no clue what goes on in the other half of our lab on a different floor yet I'm going to be accountable for safety stuff when NO ONE works there.  Awesome.  I have awhile to prep though, he's not coming until 2.  I'm also nervous for my road race this weekend.  I've run that distance plenty of times but whenever leisurely is replaced with race I get all weirded out.

I agree, I didn't like Something Borrowed.  I reommend Prime if you've never seen it. It's older, but it's really funny.

I'm so glad it's Friday.  We're headed home for the weekend.  FI has his bachelor party tomorrow night. I'm hoping to get a bunch of decoration-related items made.

Ok, so yesterday my coworker is all like "you remember that kid that rented an apartment from us but then canceled his lease for August?" and I'm like "you mean my kids cousin?" she's all like "Yeah, that one. He was arrested. Here's the article from the newspaper' I read the article and my jaw drops. This is my ex-husbands first cousin, so my kids second cousin.

He was arrested for sharing child pornography and at one point even admits to touching two children. I am in shock. I have known this kid since he was 9. He was always a loner, and a little weird, but I never suspected this. At most we all thought he was gay. I had to go home and ask my kid if her cousin was ever inappropriate with her. Thankfully he wasn't. But I'm still in shock. I can only imagine how his family feels. His parents are amazing people and he has a sister that's 16. I couldn't post this on FB because some of his family are my friends, but I needed to get it out.

Ok, I'm a little freaked out but I'll stop now. I'm going to have a crappy weekend because I am working. But it will be good because it is the last full weekend I work for a long time.

I said that wrong. We thought he was quiet and kept to himself because he was gay and didn't want to admit it. Not that he was gay because he was weird. I'm not saying that our thought of him being gay and what he did go hand in hand, because they don't.

YIO I'm so sorry to hear about that. I can't imagine how in shock you must feel.

Steph, I don't think she means anything badly by it.  A lot of times when someone you know well does something so horrific, you (general you) often try and cope by finding clues of past behavior that should have/could have tipped you off.

ETA Or YIO has a better explanation than I do.

Morning.  I'm home today cleaning and getting ready for house guests this weekend.  I also need to run a few errands and get my car serviced this afternoon.  Fun times.  

My aunt and cousin are coming over tomorrow, they haven't seen our house, so I know they'll want to tour the whole thing.  I hate having to clean for house tours.

Nebb, that band list sounds freaking amazing.  Also, I know have MGMT in my head.

I took yesterdya off as a "me" day.  It was awesome.  I had a prenatal massage, a mani/pedi AND lunch at Ikea. 

Tomorrow I've got my shower with Derek's side of the family.  It will be nice to finally be able to get an idea of what we still need to buy!

This has been a long freaking week.  I have to make it through work today and then class tonight, and then I can sort of relax.  I'm dogsitting for my parents this weekend and will probably spend most of the weekend studying.  Super exciting.

Game of Thrones is back on Sunday night, though, and I'm excited about that!
