Cooking

I really want to broaden my horizons when it comes to cooking, specially now that im cooking for DH but its seems as if the recipes I find always include such hard to find ingredients Undecided hmmm. Could any of you gals recommend a good recipe book or webpage..or hek even a recipe you love! Laughing Thanks!

Re: Cooking

  • THIS recipe for 'cheesy jalapeno popper baked stuffed chicken' from SkinnyTaste is one of the best things I've ever made. It's really delicious and isn't difficult to make which is nice. I can't handle anything TOO spicy so I only use 2 jalapenos instead of 3.

  • Check out my pinterest (link in signature blow)  I'm got a lot there that have almost all been tested and found great.

My favorite cooking websites are Paula Deen's, eatingwell.com, and cookinglight.com.
  • Better Homes and Gardens cookbook.  It's got a truckload of recipes, but doesn't require you to go get anything too fancy.  I got this for a Christmas present last year and I've got stains on pretty much every page (I'm messy in the kitchen.)  It's probably my favorite thing ever and the FI  loves my cooking out of that book.  Previously, I could make quesadilla, grilled cheese, cold cereal and pb&j.

  • Ditto skinnytaste.com and Cooking Light.  I recently subscribed to Cooking Light magazine and just rip out the recipes that sound interesting & keep them in a binder.

  • Fi and I love to experiment with cooking so we don't have recipes per se...
We like to pan-fry pork chops (make sure to cook them enough) with different kinds of spice rubs. They're amazing with brown sugar and a little rum....or cayenne pepper, curry and sea salt...or (my favourite) GROUND COFFEE !!
Get Thai peanut sauce and have it over chicken and potatoes, it is soo easy but really flavourful.
You can make pizza on pita bread (bake at 400 degrees for around 8-10 minutes) and pick any kind of fresh or crazy toppings.
To make any vegetable about 100% better, just roast it. Green beans, snap/snow peas, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, cabbage, artichokes and (of course) potatoes all work. And probably more that I have yet to try! Some you will want to boil or steam first, then toss with olive oil and salt and throw in oven.
    I hope I have helped a little ;)
