What do you remember...

So as many of you know, I am a teacher...I teach mostly kids between 12 - 14 years of age. I am always astounded by what is 'cool' at any given time...my kids ALL have ipods (mostly iPod touches, kid you not, 80% of them have one), Uggs are really popular (real and fake), scarves, etc...

What do you remember from when you were in middle school that 'everyone' had?

I remember:

Doc Martens (parents wouldn't buy them for me)

Vuarnet t-shirts (these might be a Canadian thing)

Technicolour shirts (changed colour with heat/sweat, gross!)

Big shirts with leggings (wait a second...hmmm...how cyclical is fashion!)

Nintendo Gameboys

OMG...when I lived in Italy in high school and ran varsity track Starter Jackets were HUGE on the American military bases...everyone had one and the guys all kept the price tags on their baseball caps too...

I had forgotten about coloured elastics on braces...
