Good Morning!

I just spent the last hour sitting out on the frosty patio (where I could see my breath) and watching a doe and fawn eating and playing in the meadow.

We're going on a climb/hike today and then going shopping in the area afterwards.  I'm hoping to find a swimsuit but am doubtful of finding one that isn't stereotypically a biker chick style.  Not that I mind too much, but if I'm spending money on a suit, it better be more than tiny bits of cloth held together by string  ;)

Re: Good Morning!

  • Anna I've missed you! Hope you find a bathing suit.

TGIF! I'm so tired and I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. My son is coming in on Sunday, so I took Monday off to spend time with him. He keeps talking about moving up here with us, but we'll see.

Hope you're having a good trip lady!

It's a great trip!  We're already starting to plan next year's.

Blue: there is no Target out here.  Just touristy shops.
  • Good luck finding a suit Anna!

I'm at work, but for the first time all week I actually have a program to go to this morning, so I'll be heading out in about 45 minutes to go talk to some college kids. It should break up my monotonous day a bit.

  • Goodmorning!

I am really excited it is Friday as well.
I have a bad habit of keeping the knot open all day at work and today I am the only one out in this part of the office.

    It is way too Quiet...

Is the diner you work at crazy busy in the mornings?  I used to work at a rest stop diner and loved working the morning shift because it was nonstop start to finish.

  • Anna, that sounds so beautiful!

I have to answer phones at work for a bit today, but first I have to get rid of this migraine that kept me from sleeping last night. Ugh. It's really hard to concentrate with pain shooting down the right side of my head and neck.

Its not a diner, but yes its very busy.  Except today the hostess called out and I really hate doing that job.  People are pretty rude to the hostess and I dont have a lot of patience.

  • Seems that we've bypassed August in Chicago and gone straight to September.  It was in the 40's last night in the outlying areas.  Personally I prefer this weather.

Anna, your trip sounds amazing.  I need a holiday with just H.  All my trips seem to involve my mother.  She's either coming up to Chi to visit or we're going down to Florida to visit.

I have an afternoon/evening shift and then off for the weekend!
  • Blue I just don't picture you as a hostess. I would suck at being the hostess, can't fake smile that long.

Anna, your trip sounds fun. I saw your tepee pic and was jealous.

I'm just ready to get the day over with so we can go to the cabin.

  • Good morning, I'm so glad it's Friday. I felt like this week would never end. Last week too. I imagine the next few weeks will be the same because I'm looking forward to going away. Always happens that way, doesn't it?

  • Morning all,

We spent the morning picking up more diabetes stuff for H from CVS and replanning meals for the week. We're having my parents over for dinner and I'm getting mom flowers as a thank you for being so awesome this week. Wed we asked her to watch Bug for 30 minutes while H went to the clinic, and she ended up being there from 10am until 6pm. Then yesterday he got called back in and she had her from 3-6 with zero warning (other than a harried me calling to ask if she had plans that day). Thank goodness for my momma!

I'm so glad you have great parents around to help. I told H just the other day, while we were trying to get granddaughter down, that I dont know what I would have done without my mother.
I dont know what people do without family to help.

How is H feeling? Is he adjusting ok?

  • So far he's taking it really well. His sugars are down in the 200 range today (as opposed to 400 yesterday and 500-600 the day before) and he's starting to feel the difference between having a good sugar level and when it is off.

I think his main fear is still how to tell his family about it. We both agreed not to mention it until absolutely necessary, and at least until he's stable.

Personality wise...I have my husband back. We've been having issues because he's been so angry since K was born, and impatient, and sleeps all the time. He's like a totally new, happy, person now.

So happy! I'm so glad you figured all this out K, it has to make you feel less stressed about something you knew there had tp be an answer to. Like it wasn't just a "marriage" issue, this really wasnt the husband you married. And you were right! And K can have her daddy back!

  • Blue it sucks you have to go in. Hopefully short lived today? So you can go home before the fake smiles hurt your cheeks :(

Katie those are big changes to adjust to. I'm glad he feels the difference and you have encouragement.

Anna - surely you can find great end of season sales! Good luck suit shopping and enjoy the rest of your trip!
