Snarky Brides

Re: Track suits

  • I would laugh if I got one, not in front of the bride, but still.

    image
  • Didn't Brittney Spears do that? Enough said.
    image
  • I would be pissed if I got that as a gift. I'm not typically an ungrateful person, but that's a crappy gift.
  • Belle, that pic is scary and funny all rollled in one.

    Sept, me too.

Yes Britt did do that and I am sure this is where OP got the idea.

wait, you aren't all sitting at home in a Juicy Tracksuit that costs more than a village in Malawi needs to eat for week? Clearly none of you have any fashion sense...

And you need your name on it so that when your john knocks you unconscious and you wake up on the floor and can't remember what you were wearing you figure out that it is the fushia pink velour track suit with your name on it.

I dont see anything wrong with it. For all we know her friends would enjoy a gift like that.

    <div>It's true.</div>
  • I'd super hate it because I wouldn't even be able to return it.

    Nebb- yes, thats possible
  • I must really be behind the times because I had to look up what it was. I would wear something like that at home or maybe to the grocery store. I wouldn't be crazy about walking around in a tracksuit with someone's wedding date on it.

<div>My ex-roommate used to have these two navy blue coffee mugs that had "Ben's Bar Mitzvah, June 25th 1996" printed on them...I think he picked them up at GoodWill...it just made me laugh that they had made it there...</div>
  • Who the hell wears track suits anymore. Really? I haven't seen then on celebs in years and even the kids I go to school with don't wear them and they wear some odd sh!t.

Yeah, I suppose I didn't take into account that someone who would order Juicy tracksuits would likely have friends who would want one.

I guess it's just so foreign to me that I forget there are people that like them. People probably wouldn't want what I gave my bridesmaids either, so I shouldn't talk.
  • I never play the I judge game so I get to judge. You guys aren't ruining this for me! :P

The way I see it, I think ed hardy is super lame... BUT there are people out there who like it, and generally also have friends who like it. Just because I think it sucks and wouldnt wear it doesnt mean everyone feels that way!

For me it was more the wearing clothing with your name on it...I genuinely can't think of anyone who does that other than celebrities who wear clothing from their own clothing line that has their own name on it (P-Diddy anyone?)

Edited for a stupid spelling mistake...it is getting late...
  • Also, where would you put the name so that it isn't odd looking?

    On the ass, no??

  • Nothing like someone staring at your ass all day!

    image
  • I still side-eye the personalization though. Someone made a good point - what if they don't fit? Sizing charts are not gospel, and they can definitely be wrong.
  • I like some personalized stuff, just not pants or shirts.

    image
  • September your sig picture is too beautiful...I might have to add it to my must have shot list (which will now sit at one must have shot...better get on that).
  • I like personalized stuff too - to a point. I have a makeup bag that was personalized with "Kelly's Bag O' Tricks" and I thought it was funny.
  • I don't think anyone will want to wear something personalized to her wedding. If she is investing that much money, then it would make sense to get them something they can wear again.
    image
  • Yeah, you don't have long.
    image
  • Aw! Thanks, Number! I totally neglected to make a "must take" list and now I really regret the lack of special photos I have. :(

  • I liked this post:

"'Ive never seen a person in real life wearing a track suit.  I don't know anyone who would consider this a gift.  Sorry, I think this would be a major waste of your money. "

hahah. Exactly what I thought. I've never seen anyone wearing tracksuits except on Sopranos and maybe Real Housewives.
