Snarky Brides

Anyone here tried No! No!

I shamelessly love watching infomercials and have bought a ton of crap after watching them - ha! - and I'm interested to see if any of you guys have tried No! No!.  It's a hair removing device and it looks kinda neat, according to the infomercial it's good (or zomg perfect) for removing hair around your eyebrows, upper lip hair, bikini line, armpit, etc.

Anyone tried?

  • I have seen the infomercial but im afraid of things like that.  I think of it like shaving your face.  Its just gonna come back in darker and thicker

This is a bit TMI but back when swam we would shave our arms and everything. People always warned that it would come back darker and thicker and it never did. I actually had a lot less arm hair by the time I was done swimming.

I'm Mediterranean as hell! Maltese and Italian lol. I mean I don't think I'd ever try this No, No stuff and I wouldn't ever shave my face but I did get less on the arms.

  • my good friend has bought it and after one month she was still raving about it. she thinks it has made her face noticeably smoother?

  • I would love to try something like this on my underarms, or especially my bikini area.  I freaking hate shaving there.

I'm also a sucker for infomercials.  But, alas, I'm sure it's a dumb scam product.

I also wouldn't trust it on my face.  I've never removed my upper lip hair before, but I'm thinking about it.  It's still blonde, so it's not very noticeable at all, but now that I'm getting older it is starting to bother me, and I think it would be nice to have it smooth.

But then that would be just one more stupid thing to have to keep up with.  And I'm not good at keeping up with that stuff regularly.

  • Maybe I could try it on my bikini area or legs or something for a while before attempting it somewhere important like my face, lol.

For real, I'm a huge sucker.  You should see some of the crap I've bought.

  • I bought a Scticky...I live with FI and he has wood floors. We have a dog and a cat, so I'm constantly dust mopping.

Like you, AllAbout, I might try it on my legs first...I hate shaving and Veet is a PITA. I'm too chicken to have the legs waxed.
  • You actually use Veet?  I tried that crap once and I legit thought my legs were going to dissolve right off my body.  It burned that bad.  It was like I had slathered myself in battery acid or was wearing leggings made entirely of fire ants.

  • The only thing I ever tried was Nads (what a name) and bruised the fluck out of the one shin I managed to make it through.  And I swear the hair does grow back darker there than on the other shin.

Lizzie, what is this Scticky thing?  Does it work?

I tried the veet stuff... and yeah... even worse than the battery acid feeling is the fact that there was still hair left.  WTF am I supposed to do then?  Shave my swollen, red, burned legs?

    Never tried nads.

I did try this sally hansen stuff that is supposed to be a "painless" wax.  I'm such an idiot.  To give you an idea of just how moronic I can be sometimes, I used it on my bikini area first.  I only did one strip (thank God) and nearly passed out.  It left the nastiest bruise.  That's probably one of the only times I've ever returned a used/opened product to the store.

LOL I had forgotten about that, monkey.  There WAS hair left.  And you have to let it grow for a while before you use it, so yeah, I definitely had burnt red hairy legs.  Man that was miserable.  I threw the rest of that crap away.

I think Sephora stopped selling the No!No! because it didn't work and customers kept asking for refunds.

I have a Silkn, and I think it works.  I have very little hair left in the areas where I use it.
  • Do they sell it at Bed Bath and Beyond? Buy it with a coupon!

XH used Nair on his face once.  Man, what a mistake.  His skin looked horrible for days.

I used to use some wax you heated up (maybe nads? I dont know, what a terrible name...) and it had a sweet taste (it was "all natural" and apparently edible, I tasted it once, whatever!) and I successfully waxed my arms with it though I dont remember now why I even waxed my arms. You had to use little cloth strips. I also use veet strips (that I cut down) on my eyebrows now and they work really well.
  • I'm a sucker for informercial products, too. I thought about this because I hate shaving, but the reviews for it on Amazon are generally terrible. I take that stuff with a grain of salt, but they're pretty bad.

</div><div>Dipilatories (sp?) are generally designed for the legs..fattier parts of the body with thicker skin. Facial skin is pretty thin and sensitive. This is why I don't Veet my pits, and only use it sparingly in the bikini area...never on the tender parts.</div>
