Share your recipes for salmon!

I've got a bunch of salmon fillets that I'd like to grill or bake and I'm looking for suggestions on a rub, marinade or something similar to cook it with. Share your favorites, please!

  • We use Zatarains blackened seasoning. I rub a bunch of the seasoning on and pan sear the fillets for about 2 min on each side on the stove w/ a little evoo. Then finish in the oven on broil. Squeeze lemon juice on top and serve over wilted garlic spinach.

    This is Rachel Ray's Lime & Honey Glazed Salmon recipe ... I'm actually making this for my daughter's birthday dinner tomorrow because it's her favorite food, evah.


    Serves 4

    2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil 
    salt and pepper
    1 lime, juiced
    3 tbsp honey
    1 tsp chili powder 
    4 6 oz salmon fillets
     
    Directions

    Preheat a medium non-stick skillet over medium-high heat with 2 tablespoons of oil.  In a shallow dish, combine the juice of 1 lime, honey, chili powder, salt, and pepper.  Add the salmon fillets to the lime-honey mixture and toss to coat thoroughly.  Add the seasoned salmon to the hot skillet and cook until just cooked through, about 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
  • I put fillets onto a cookie sheet lined with tin foil, and then drizzle olive oil and lemon on. I add minced garlic (you could use powder or granulated too), salt, pepper, and a mixture of herbs, usually oregano, basil, and rosemary. I rub all of that in and then roast in a 400 degree oven until it flakes easily with a fork.

    I like serving it with roasted red potatoes: just chop and toss them with olive oil, salt and pepper and a little rosemary if you want, and start them cooking about 20 minutes before you start the salmon.
  • Mix garlic chili sauce (the Asian stuff), orange marmalade, and soy sauce together.  Slather on the salmon fillet.  Broil or bake.  Sweet and spicy - yum.

  • This recipe's sound amazing, I might have to steal a few also.  I usually just throw them in a pan full of butter and parsley and bake it.  Weak sauce.
  • Ooh, all of these sound so yummy! I think I might do the honey and lime tonight since I have all the ingredients at home, but luckily I have a ton more to try out the other ones later one! :D

  • I have nothing to contribute, since I usually bake my salmon with just salt, pepper, olive oil, lemon juice and dill, but I will say this:

    Salmon is the greatest thing ever.
  • I've been on a crazy fish kick lately. Before that it was egg whites. I should combine the two... hmm

  • I sometimes marinate it in honey, ginger and soy sauce then grill it. 
  • Preheat the broiler and set the rack in the middle of the oven.

    Mix some dijon mustard, minced garlic, minced rosemary, and honey together. (To make it easier this can all be done in a blender. If the mixture is too thick you can pour in some olive oil.) * In a pinch I just use prepared honey mustard*

    Place individual piece(s) of salmon on foil lined cookie sheet. Broil for 2 minutes.

    Take out of the oven. Spoon some mixture over salmon. Place back in oven and broil 5 more minutes. Done =)

  • I made the honey-lime-chili one last night and it was AWESOME! Even FI liked it, and it was definitely a little on the adventurous side for him. Thanks, ladies :)
