budget probs!

our parents are paying for our wedding and they are limiting our guest list to 100 people.  except i always invisioned my wedding to have ALL my friends and family and EVERYONE there.  i want them to be there for me and james and 100 people just wont cut it but they wont up the budget!  i'm beyond pissed!

Be very grateful your parents are paying for your wedding, that is very kind of them indeed. If you want more guests, pay for them yourself.

My mom could not have paid for a wedding had I married in my 20's, and my father was even by then long deceased. Not to bitch, because I have had a great life thus far but my own background gives me little sympathy for "problems" like this. It was not that I was so nobly self sufficient and independent, it was that I always had to go get and do everything myself or I did not get it at all.

Go hug your parents and thank them and stop complaining.

What you should do is charge each guest a fee, doesn't have to be much, $30 or so, then you can increase the size of the event.  That should cover your five friends, your FI doesn't have any to worry about, and then all your parents friends who come to see how pale a person you're marrying and how bad his teeth are, and there might even be some money left over to get you a real ring.

Lenore, if everything she's posted is real then:

*She's 19
*Her FI couldn't afford a ring
*Then her FI got her a ring, but it was too small and she wanted a new one
*She didn't want her sister to be  BM because her sister didn't lose enough baby weight
*Her FI is ghostly pale, so she wanted him to go tanning before the wedding
*Her FI apparently never goes to the dentist, so he needs to get 20 cavaties  in his ugly teeth filled before the wedding
*And her FI is a virgin that wants to wait until their wedding night, and apparently in spite of being sickeningly pale with gross teeth and dirt poor, she's going crazy wanting to jump his bones now
